This guide will help you get started with your Ranger build in Schedule I. You'll learn about initial character customization, the first few quests, and how to acquire essential gear to begin your adventure.

Starting the Game

After a brief cutscene and character customization, you'll spawn near the bus station. Your first quest, "Getting Started," will prompt you to check your phone (Tab key) and read messages. An "Unknown" message will direct you to a payphone to speak with "U.N." (Uncle Nelson). He'll instruct you to retrieve his stash near the skatepark, which contains $375.

Renting a Motel Room

Next, speak to the motel manager, Donna, at the house next to the motel. After initiating the "Rent a motel room" quest, you can pickpocket Donna to reclaim the $75 needed for the room. Once rented, enter Room 1 to complete the objective. Uncle Nelson will then want to speak with you again at the payphone.

Buying Equipment

The "Gearing Up" questline begins, directing you to the hardware store (marked by a yellow star on your map, accessible by walking forward from your room until the road ends, then turning left). At the hardware store, you'll need to deposit your cash at an ATM and then purchase a grow tent, soil bag, and watering can. It's recommended to also buy "Plant Trimmers," a "Packaging Station," and 10 "Baggies." If you tell Dan, the shop owner, you're a drug dealer, he may gift you "Speed Grow." After purchasing, return to your motel room, place the grow tent, and add soil. Speak to Uncle Nelson again at the payphone.

Planting your First Seeds

Uncle Nelson introduces you to Albert Hoover. Check your phone for a message from Albert to order seeds via a "Dead Drop." You can initially only purchase "OG Kush." After placing an order, Albert will deliver the seeds to a marked dead drop location. You'll need to pay Albert back by placing cash in a dead drop behind the hardware store. Once you have the seed, return to your grow tent and sow it. Water the plant using the watering can, which you can fill at the sink. Sleeping after watering helps plants grow faster and conserves water. Once the plant is fully grown, use the plant trimmers to harvest the buds.

Packaging

Place down the "Packaging Station." Interact with it to package your harvested buds into baggies. Drag baggies into the "Packaging" slot and buds into the "Input" slot. Press "Pack," then drag each bud into a bag, and finally drag the filled bag into the hopper. Packaged weed will appear in the output. You can also unpack weed using the same interface.
