[3-11] Messages

Learn about item notifications and important mid-screen messages in Quake Champions. Understand their purpose and how they guide you.

When you pick up items like ammo or weapons in Quake Champions, a sound plays and a message appears at the top of your screen (the HUD (heads-up display — the on-screen icons showing health, ammo and the minimap)). These messages are purely informational, letting you know you've acquired an object.

Other messages will appear in the middle of the screen. These messages are important and should be read. On earlier levels, these messages help you learn the game. On harder levels, there are fewer messages, and they may be more cryptic.
