[16-3] Joining a game of Quake

Change to your Quake directory (default c:\quake_sw) and load Quake Champions by typing 'Quake'.

Press the [~] key to open the console.

Type the following command: 'COMX baud X modem startup (INIT string) enable', replacing X with the appropriate baud rate and (INIT string) with your modem's initialization string. For example: 'COM1 baud 28800 modem startup ATZ enable'. Refer to section [15-4] for a list of modem INIT strings. For direct connect games, do not type an INIT string.

Type the following command: 'connect XXXXXXXXXX', where XXXXXXXXXX is the server's telephone number. For direct connect games, type 'connect #'.

Type the command: 'slist'. This will display a list of Quake Champions games available on that server.

Type the command: 'connect X', where X is the name of the Quake Champions game you wish to join.

You should now be ready to play.
