[2-9] Swimming

Learn about swimming in water, slime, and lava in Quake Champions. Discover protection needs and compare mechanics to Duke Nukem 3D.

You can now swim around in water, slime, and lava. After about 10 seconds you start to choke. It is not recommended that you go swimming in slime or lava without the necessary protection.

The method Quake Champions uses for swimming is more realistic than Duke Nukem 3D's. In Quake Champions, you 'aim' yourself in the direction you want to go and press forward. Duke Nukem 3D implements swimming as walking underwater, using the up and down keys rather than swimming up and down.
