Unleash your potential with the MetaMorph Guide! Learn about class skills, morphic pool, biophage, rapid mutation, and all the powerful abilities to master MetaMorph in this comprehensive walkthrough.
The depths of the cosmos hold unparalleled beauty and unbridled terror in equal measure. Spacefarers and those who delve too deeply into the mysteries of the stars learn this eternal truth well. Most of the horrors that lurk in the darkness between the stars never find their way into the light, but there will always be explorers who seek to force every discovery under the microscope. It is too often that from these discoveries, innocents are exposed to the worst that the universe has to offer. Whether it be by accidental contamination, laboratory negligence, or intentional malice, Metamorphs all bear similar strains of a most virulent virus. They bond with their interstellar invader on a cellular level, becoming unfettered from the limitations of finite flesh and bone. It is through this connection that those afflicted are able to throw off the shackles of their mortal coil and remake their forms to suit their whims. For a Metamorph, the body is not just a canvas upon which to make their mark. They are both the sculptor and the clay, acting as one.
Role: Where there is flesh to be cleaved and blood to be spilled, the Metamorph excels. These terror-inducing shapeshifters operate best when they are able to get up close and personal with their enemies, putting their dizzying array of natural weapons to work. All the better to turn what is left into biomass later.
Size: Metamorphs must be Medium sized naturally.

Weapon and Armor Proficiency
A metamorph is proficient with all natural attacks. Metamorphs are not proficient with armor.
Morphic Pool
A metamorph has an innate pool of bioenergy that she can draw on to fuel her metamorph abilities and perform profane acts. The metamorph's morphic pool can hold a maximum amount of bioenergy equal to the metamorph's class levels + the metamorph's permanent Constitution modifier. Her pool does not refill on its own and must be sustained through the consumption of biomass. Temporary increases to Constitution do not grow the metamorph's morphic pool, nor do drain, damage, or penalties to her Constitution reduce it.
Spending Morphic Pool for any ability is a free action.
Biophage
To a metamorph, there is no such thing as inedible when it comes to animate tissue.
A metamorph has the ability to consume biomass to fuel herself; this is, in fact, her only way to survive. A metamorph may consume the biomass of a helpless or recently deceased creature depending on its power and how long it has been dead. Any helpless creature consumed takes damage equal to its HD per full-round spent being devoured by the metamorph. A recently deceased creature must have been dead for no longer than a number of hours less than its CR and takes a number of rounds to consume equal to its CR. Each full-round that the metamorph consumes biomass in this way, she regains 1 point to her morphic pool. A creature with less than 1 CR still requires 1 round to consume and restores 1 point, which is why metamorphs can often be spotted with sacks full of small woodland creatures. This ability does not work on creatures smaller than Tiny and is never considered an evil act.
Unstable Stability
The virus that gives a metamorph her abilities can abide no pretenders. A metamorph gains a +4 bonus on saves vs. spells of the polymorph subschool due to her preternatural control over her own body.
Rapid Mutation
A metamorph's true power lies in her ability to rapidly mutate her body into grotesque weapons. These mutations are grown through the expenditure of morphic pool. While there is no hard limit on the amount of morphic pool a metamorph can spend on her mutations each round, she risks stability loss if she is not smart about keeping her body in check. Whenever a metamorph creates a mutation, it instantly forms, ready to be used with any modifications selected at the time. Any attacks created by rapid mutation can be altered at any time by the expenditure of additional morphic pool, however reversing mutations takes a standard action that can remove any number of her mutations at once.
All mutations last for 10 minutes. A metamorph can safely mutate her body using 1 morphic pool each round. As a swift action, she can brace herself for the oncoming changes, allowing her to safely mutate 1 additional point that round. Any points spent in excess of their limit per round inflict 1 point of Con damage that cannot be reduced or healed until the metamorph reverts to their natural form. At level 11, the metamorph can safely mutate 1 additional point when bracing herself. A metamorph may not use rapid mutation while under the effect of any polymorph spell, and any mutations currently active are suppressed when they come under the effect of a polymorph spell.
A metamorph may only have a certain number of natural attacks at any given level. If the metamorph is at her maximum, she cannot use mutations that grant additional natural attacks. Any racial natural attacks or items that grant natural attacks count against this limit.
At 1st level, a metamorph may have a maximum of 3 natural attacks. At 3rd level, this maximum increases to 4. At 6h level, this increases to 5. At 9th, this increases to 6. At 11th, this increases to 7. At 13th, this increases to 8. At 15th, this increases to 9. At 17th, this increases to 10.
1-Point Mutations
Bite: (Ex) A metamorph's maw is full of razor-sharp teeth, giving her a bite attack. This attack is a primary attack. The bite deals 1d6 points of damage (1d8 if Large, 2d6 if Huge). If she already has a bite attack, this mutation allows it to deal 1-1/2 times her
