Learn how to find, lure, and catch elusive Boos in Luigi's Mansion. Discover their HP, unique behaviors, and strategies for vacuuming them up.
Stats / Weaknesses:
- HP: 30-300 (varies between The Mansion and The Hidden Mansion)
- Weakness: Vacuum cleaner
Phases:
- Detection: A dot on your Game Boy Horror indicates a Boo's presence:
- Blue: No Boo in the room.
- Blinking Yellow: Boo is in the room; blinks faster as you get closer.
- Blinking Red: You are next to the Boo.
- Luring: Vacuum the area or tap A to lure the Boo out. It might reveal a ball, a bomb (watch out for explosion!), or the Boo itself.
- Battle: Once lured, vacuum the Boo to drain its HP. Unlike regular ghosts, Boos can flee through walls.
- Pursuit: If a Boo flees, follow it quickly. If you wait too long, it will hide, and you'll need to find it again. Restarting the game resets a Boo's HP and position.
- Hiding: If you take too long to find a Boo, or if you lure out a ball or bomb, the Boo will laugh and change hiding spots within the room.
Strategy:
- Boos can only be caught in lit rooms.
- Boos cannot be caught before visiting the Storage Room.
- Boos do not appear in bathrooms, washrooms, outdoor areas, the Observatory, or corridors.
- When a Boo flees into a corridor, it's risky as they can easily escape into another room, potentially one you haven't unlocked.
- In dark corridors, HP draining is slower and Boos are faster.
- There are 50 Boos in total (51 including King Boo). 15 are part of boss encounters and are not listed individually.
- Each Boo has unique introductory and subsequent comments that change each time they are lured out. The first comment is always an introduction. Saving and quitting will cause the Boo to start with its second comment upon being lured out again.
