Learn about Elimination, Pistolwhip, Cover, Accidents, and Hiding Bodies in Hitman: Absolution. Master stealth and combat for successful assassinations.
This section details various combat and stealth mechanics available to Agent 47 in Hitman: Absolution.
Combat Techniques
- Elimination: When a pistol is drawn, approach an enemy from behind to perform a silent kill by firing two shots into their back. This is most effective with silenced pistols.
- Pistolwhip: A non-lethal alternative to Elimination. After grabbing an enemy, you can choose to knock them out instead of killing them. This option also allows you to grab a Human Shield.
- Pushing and Pulling: Interact with railings and windows to push enemies over them for an accidental kill. You can also pull enemies over ledges or through windows.
Stealth and Evasion
- Cover: When crouched behind objects like counters, Agent 47 can enter cover, making him harder to spot. From cover, you can vault over objects or pull enemies to your side to Subdue or kill them.
- Accidents: Create environmental hazards to eliminate targets without suspicion. This includes electrocution, dropping objects, poison, or pushing enemies off ledges and out of windows.
- Hiding Bodies: After incapacitating an enemy, hide their body in large Containers or vertical Closets to avoid detection. These units can hold up to two bodies. Bodies can also be hidden by dumping them over railings, out of windows, down open shafts, or off cliffs. You can also retrieve a Disguise from a body placed in a unit, but you cannot remove the body itself.
- Ledges, Windows, and Air Shafts: Utilize Ledges to traverse areas and avoid enemies. Open Windows can be climbed through to enter rooms, evade guards, or hide. Enemies can be grabbed and thrown through windows. Air Shafts provide alternative entry points to inaccessible areas and a means to escape Hostiles.
Combat Encounters
- Firefights: Hitman: Absolution features more action-oriented gameplay, including firefights with Hostile Guards. The gunplay is designed to be engaging and the weapons are powerful.
