The Wishing Well in Vanaheim?

Alright, so you've heard about the Wishing Well in Vanaheim, huh? It's this cool, kinda hidden spot that's actually a great place to snag some extra gear and materials to upgrade your equipment. Basically, you toss certain items you find while exploring Vanaheim's optional areas into the well, and it spits out useful stuff for you. Other than that, there's not much else to it, so don't stress if you don't find it right away.

To even get to the area where the Wishing Well is, you'll need to have finished the main story quest called Creatures of Prophecy. After that, you can start a favor called Scent of Survival from Freyr's Camp. This quest will open up a big, optional area called The Crater, which is made up of The Plains, The Sinkholes, and The Jungle. That's where you'll find the Wishing Well.

There are actually two ways to get to the Wishing Well, depending on whether you're exploring The Jungle or The Sinkholes.

The Jungle Method

First things first, you'll need to complete the favor Return of the River in The Jungle. This is super important because it unblocks the dam, letting you travel through a lot more of The Crater using the waterways. Once that's done, head to the island in The Jungle that has the Ogres on it. You'll likely be fighting two Ogres and two Nokken here, so try to take out the Nokken first – they can be pretty annoying. After you've dealt with them, go back to the Jungle Entrance mystic gateway and head east. You should spot a grapple point; use it to pull the chain and open the gate. If you hadn't cleared out the Ogres, you wouldn't be able to interact with that chain. Keep following the path, clear out the Wretch Nest you'll find, and then look for a wind vent on the wall nearby. Toss your spear at it to get to the ledge above. From there, you'll need to squeeze through a small passage, which leads to one last path and a gate. Open it up, and voilà, you've found the Wishing Well!

The Sinkholes Method

If you're exploring The Sinkholes, you'll automatically start the Quaking Hollow favor. Just follow the walkthrough for that favor, and you'll end up fighting a boss at the end. Once the boss is down, look around the arena. You should see some vines on one side – burn those away. Then, squeeze through the gap you create and follow the path until you reach a gate. Open it, and you'll be led straight to the Wishing Well.

Once you're at the Wishing Well, jump down to the ground. You'll see some big crystals around. Breaking these will get you Crystalline Fragments and Crystalline Shards. The Shards are what you throw into the Wishing Well to get crafting materials and Hacksilver. The Fragments, on the other hand, will get you some unique gear for Kratos. Keep an eye out for these crystals all over The Crater as you explore – break them whenever you see them!
