    After finishing the main quest The Reckoning, speak with Beyla and Byggvir in Freyr’s Camp to initiate the favor.

    Travel to The Forbidden Sands in Alfheim.

    Locate the Elven Sanctum facade on an elevated ledge at the easternmost edge of the region.

    Collect the Tribute to Freyr - Bracelet artifact from the right edge of the ledge.

    Open the small chest on the left edge of the ledge.

    Enter the Elven Sanctum through the double doors.

    Navigate east through the sanctum to reach the library.

    Inside the library:
    • Find the Lore Marker - Rules of the Sanctum on the eastern edge, bottom floor.

    Collect the Lore - The Lost Pages along the northeastern edge, bottom floor, on a round table.

    Pick up the Scroll - An Examination of Temporal Significance just north of the library's center, bottom floor, on a round table.

    Climb ledges on the western end to the topmost floor. Find the Treasure Map - Forgotten Tower on a scroll shelf along the northern edge.

    Loot the Legendary Chest behind the treasure map scroll shelf to obtain a Jewel of Yggdrasil.

    Climb to the westernmost edge of the library and pick up the Consul’s Journal from a stand.

    Leave the Elven Sanctum.

    After exiting, you will face a boss battle.

Boss Battle - The Maven:

The Maven fights similarly to Alva. She uses two blades and has a limited but distinct attack pattern.

  • Crosslash: An unblockable (red) attack. She winds back and slashes, releasing an X-shaped energy burst. Dodge sideways. Often followed by Light Burst or Sword Flurry.
  • Blade Throw: A yellow attack. She throws her twinblades. Blocking is possible but deals heavy guard damage. She performs sequential throws, increasing with lower health. Time blocks to parry and advance between throws, or attack if close enough.
  • Light Burst: She plunges swords into the ground, creating a damaging area-of-effect light burst. Can be unblockable (red) or interrupted with a shield bash (blue rings) if it follows Sword Flurry. If it follows Crosslash, it can be interrupted with a shield bash.
  • Sword Flurry: A series of normal slashes, often following Crosslash when you are nearby. Easily blocked and usually finishes with an unblockable Light Burst.

Strategy: Invade The Maven's personal space. Stay close and attack whenever possible. Parrying is beneficial, but aggressive close-quarters combat is effective as she is not very durable. Anticipate her attack sequence to dodge, block, and shield bash effectively.
