Finish Fallout 3's "Who Dares Wins" quest with this walkthrough. Learn how to get Callahan's Magnum, Tesla Cannons, and Nuka-Grenades, even if you destroyed the Citadel.
Alright, so you've wrapped up the main conflict in Fallout 3 and Elder Lyons is giving you props back at the Citadel. Good job! Now, before you consider the game totally done, there are a couple of loose ends to tie up, especially if you went a little wild and blew up the Citadel.
Odd-Jobs After Victory:
First things first, chat with Elder Lyons. He'll thank you for dealing with the Enclave. Then, head over to Scribe Rothchild. He's got a thing for collecting, so he'll ask you to bring him some Sensor Modules and Cameras. After that, find Paladin Tristan. He's looking for Super Mutant Blood samples. Easiest way to get these is to just loot every Super Mutant you come across from now on. If you happened to go full demolition expert and destroy the Citadel, don't worry, there's still some cool stuff to grab. Just skip ahead to Step #27.
Traitor’s Treasure (If You Blew Up the Citadel):
So, you decided to level the Citadel? No worries, there's a sweet reward waiting in the crater. Head down into the big ol' hole where the Courtyard used to be, and you'll find a door leading to the Armory. Inside, you'll need to hack Callahan’s Terminal (it's locked with a Hard difficulty lock) to get to Callahan’s Safe, which is also Hard difficulty. Inside that safe? None other than Callahan’s Magnum – a sweet unique pistol! But that's not all. You'll also find a couple of Tesla Cannons, some Alien Power Cells, three Mini Nukes, and a bunch of other standard weapons and ammo. Keep an eye out for a dead Brotherhood Initiate; he's carrying the “Armory Key” that unlocks another door. Behind that door, you'll find some more goodies, including four first aid boxes and some Nuka-Grenades. Definitely worth the trip if you like loot!
- Make sure you have decent Lockpick and Science skills if you want to get into Callahan's Terminal and Safe easily.
- Looting Super Mutants for blood samples is a good way to stock up on other useful items too.
- Even if you didn't destroy the Citadel, it's worth checking out the Armory area if you have the skills, just for the extra loot.
