Learn about skills, skill tiers, and skillbook prices in Divinity: Original Sin 2. Starter skillbooks cost 300.
Skills in Divinity: Original Sin 2 are tied to Combat Abilities and function similarly to spells found in other RPGs. You begin with the ability to choose 3 skills at level 1. To acquire additional skills, you must purchase, steal, or craft skillbooks.
There are five distinct tiers for skills within any given Combat Ability:
- Starter
- Novice: unlocked at 4th level
- Adept: unlocked at 9th level
- Expert: unlocked at 13th level
- Master: unlocked at 16th level
Furthermore, you can unlock extra skills by combining skillbooks from an elemental ability with a non-elemental one. Base skillbooks are created when you use non-Source skillbooks. Combining a skillbook with a Source skillbook from a different ability results in a Source skillbook.
The base prices for skillbooks are as follows:
- Starter: Normal 300
- Novice: Normal 475 / 625
- Adept: Normal 1250 / 2500, Source 2000 / 4000
- Expert: Source 1875
- Master: Normal 3500, Source 7500
Warning: Learning a skill from a skillbook consumes the skillbook.
