Saving your SimCity 2000 city is a crucial command. It's imperative that you save your city often. Failing to do so can lead to many problems, especially in the rare circumstance that SimCity 2000 glitches and sends your city to electronic oblivion. In any case, it's easy enough to save, so be sure to do so often.

When you save for the first time on any given city, you'll be asked to name the file and to decide its location (usually there is a default folder location). Afterward, each save will result in a pop-up that tells you that your city has been saved and the location it has been saved to.
