Unlock costumes and epilogues by completing Resident Evil 3: Nemesis, and master The Mercenaries mode for bonus items.

Walkthrough
  1. 1
Finish the main campaign to earn costumes based on your rank. An 'S' Rank earns one costume, while an 'F' Rank earns no costumes.
  2. 2
Costumes earned are cumulative across playthroughs on the same save file. For example, a D rank followed by a C rank unlocks all five alternate costumes.
  3. 3
Complete the campaign eight times on the same save file to unlock all eight Epilogue Files, which provide additional story details about survivors of the first three Resident Evil titles.
  4. 4
The Epilogue Files unlock in a specific order: Jill Valentine, Chris Redfield, Barry Burton, Leon Kennedy, Claire Redfield, Sherry Birkin, Ada Wong, and HUNK.
  5. 5
Upon unlocking HUNK's epilogue after the eighth playthrough, a special one-time "THANK YOU FOR PLAYING" screen is displayed.
  6. 6
Complete the main campaign to unlock the extra mini-game mode, "The Mercenaries".

The Mercenaries: Operation Mad Jackal

This extra mode is similar to the "4th Survivor" mini-game in Resident Evil 2. You play as a mercenary implanted with a bomb that must be disarmed by traveling from 319 Front Cable Car to 102 Warehouse Office within a two-minute time limit.

You can earn additional time by killing enemies and rescuing survivors. Nemesis will appear multiple times; defeating him grants a substantial time bonus. Enemy kills and rescued survivors also earn money, which can be used to unlock weapons and items for the main campaign.

Characters:

  • Each of the three U.B.C.S. mercenaries has eight inventory slots and a preset loadout.
  • Carlos Oliveira: M4A1 Assault Rifle, EAGLE 6.0, Hand Gun Bullets (90), three Mixed Herbs (Green+Red+Blue).
  • Mikhail Victor: Benelli M3S Shotgun, M629C Magnum, Rocket Launcher, Shotgun Shells (21), Magnum Bullets (18), one Mixed Herb (Green+Red+Blue), one healing item. Mikhail is considered the easiest due to his powerful loadout.
  • Nicholai Ginovaef: SIGPRO SP2009, Knife, three First Aid Sprays. Nicholai has higher durability but a more difficult loadout.

Enemies and Bonus Values:

  • Small Spider: 0 sec. time, $0 cash.
  • Sliding Worm: 0 sec. time, $0 cash.
  • Crow: 2 sec. time, $2 cash.
  • Zombie: 3 sec. time, $5 cash.
  • Zombie Dog: 4 sec. time, $6 cash.
  • Giant Spider: 4 sec. time, $7 cash.
  • Drain Deimos: 5 sec. time, $8 cash.
  • Brain Sucker: 6 sec. time, $10 cash.
  • Hunter Beta: 6 sec. time, $10 cash.
  • Hunter Gamma: 6 sec. time, $10 cash.
  • Nemesis A: 10 sec. + 20 sec. bonus for KO, $40 cash.
  • Nemesis B: 120 sec. bonus, $250 cash.
  • Fighting Small Spiders and Sliding Worms is not recommended as they provide no bonus time or cash.
  • Defeating Nemesis A once grants 10 seconds; KO'ing him grants an additional 20 seconds.
  • Nemesis B provides a large 120-second bonus upon defeat.
  • Encountering two Nemesis A enemies with Rocket Launchers simultaneously in 108 Playground Alley is a particularly challenging setup.
Tips
  • Costumes and epilogues are cumulative, so you don't need to achieve the highest rank or unlock all epilogues in a single playthrough.
  • Mikhail's loadout makes him the easiest character to start with in The Mercenaries.
  • Conserve Carlos's Assault Rifle for the most threatening enemy types as it cannot be reloaded.
  • The EAGLE 6.0 is useful for its faster fire rate and critical hit chance.
  • Avoid fighting Small Spiders and Sliding Worms in The Mercenaries as they offer no rewards.
  • Defeating Nemesis in The Mercenaries provides significant time bonuses.
