From the previous area, grab two boxes of SHOTGUN SHELLS. Proceed through the elevator doors.

705 Factory Elevator: Take the elevator to the second floor.

704 Treatment Control: Find a BLUE HERB. Note the heavy door. Defeat all zombies, collect the SYSTEM DISK and three GREEN HERBS. Take the DEAD FACTORY MAP from the northwest door.

701 Factory Hallway: Nicholai appears and escapes, blocking his path. Exit through the northeast door.

702 Factory Lounge (Saferoom): Collect the MANAGER'S DIARY(#27) and an INK RIBBON. If not found previously, there's a chance for GUNPOWDER A and GUNPOWDER B on the table. Find a FAS and the FACILITY KEY in the back corner. Use the Item Box and save. Exit through the northeast door.

703 Steam Room: Ignore the elevator with the CARD KEY reader for now. Solve the steam vent puzzle:

From the door, turn right, find two BLUE HERBS.

Press the first switch (red light). This closes the vent on your right and opens one on your left.

Press the second and third switches.

Return to the first switch and press it again.

Go to the opposite side and press the fourth and fifth switches.

Return and press the first switch, then the second, then the third.

Use the console to open the double-lock door in 704 Treatment Control.

Press the first switch one last time to exit.

702 Factory Lounge: If stowed, retrieve the SYSTEM DISK. Take the FACILITY KEY if you plan to pick up the Rocket Launcher later. Prepare for a boss fight with healing items and a fast-drawing weapon. Save your game. Head to the Treatment Control room.

701 Factory Hallway: Watch out for two Deimoses.

704 Treatment Control: Proceed through the newly unlocked door.

710 Disposal Access: Use the SYSTEM DISK to unlock the next door.

711 B.O.W. Disposal (Nemesis Factory Battle): You are locked in with a four-minute timer. Nemesis will appear.

Nemesis Strategy: Lure Nemesis near the acid spray valves. Aim at the valve with R2 and shoot it to spray acid onto Nemesis. A green progress meter shows when a valve can dispense acid again.

The first acid spray severely damages Nemesis. The second removes his head, but he continues fighting with reduced accuracy. A third spray finishes him.

Heavy weapons and Freeze Rounds are effective alternatives or supplements to the acid spray.

The timer is critical; you have approximately 3 minutes and 27 seconds excluding the intro cutscene. You need about 20 seconds remaining after Nemesis is defeated to escape the room.

After defeating Nemesis, take the CARD KEY from a corpse. Use it on the blinking panel next to the door to unlock it.

Escape the room and return to 704 Treatment Control.
