Part 40

From the waiting area, if you encounter a Hunter, quickly duck into the door on Carlos' right to conserve rifle ammo.

Enter the Receptionist's Office (502), the Hospital's sole saferoom. Collect the INK RIBBON from the table and a FIRST AID SPRAY from a wall cabinet. Use the Item Box and save if desired.

Proceed to the Doctor's Office (503). Collect a BLUE HERB from a table, the DIRECTOR'S DIARY(#20) from a corpse on the couch, H.GUN BULLETS from an open locker, the TAPE RECORDER from a desk, and the HOSPITAL MAP from a memo board.

Examine the small control panel on the metal door in the northeast corner to activate the voice lock. Use the TAPE RECORDER to gain access to the elevator.

Examine the elevator buttons to close the doors, then check again to choose between going up to the fourth floor (4F) or down to basement level three (B3). Your choice impacts subsequent events and enemy placements.

If Carlos encounters five Zombies when the elevator doors open in Hospital Hallway 4F (504), use the ASSAULT RIFLE and aim for headshots. If not, you will encounter them on B3 or 1F.

Exit the elevator and walk forward into the door at the end of the hallway.

In the Data Room (505), a (cutscene (a non-interactive cinematic the game plays automatically)) occurs with Nicholai and Tyrell. After Nicholai leaves, collect H.GUN BULLETS from the white table near the window. Find the SICKROOM KEY and PHOTO D(#21) next to large jars in the specimen storage area. Exit.

Go down the other hallway in Hospital Hallway 4F (504) and enter the first door.

In Room 401 (506), defeat all enemies (two prone Zombies or four Worms). Note the location of the medical cabinet. Collect two GREEN HERBS if present under the window, otherwise they will be in Lab Storage (509). Obtain a three-digit code from the corpse next to the door.

Return to Hospital Hallway 4F (504) and check the room at the end of the hall to unlock it.

In Room 402 (507), solve the puzzle by pushing the medical cabinet into the correct corner to complete the symmetry with Room 401. If pushed incorrectly, Carlos will receive a shock, and you must exit and re-enter.

Once the puzzle is solved, a wall safe is revealed. Enter the three-digit code obtained in Room 401 (104, 253, 325, or 531) to get the VACCINE BASE.

Return to the elevator in Hospital Hallway 4F (504) and take it to basement level three (B3).

In Hospital Hallway B3 (508), watch for the five-pack of Zombies if not encountered on 4F. Move down the zig-zag corridor towards the next door, noting the explosives box. Equip your rifle before opening the door.

In Lab Storage (509), kill the first Hunter with your rifle. Run forward and target the second Hunter near the explosives box with R2 and fire to defeat it.

Check the lockers next to the shelves for H.GUN BULLETS if not found in the Data Room. Search around the shelves where the second Hunter was for two GREEN HERBS if not found in Room 402. Proceed through the next door.

Enter the Virus Lab (510) and prepare for two large frog-like creatures.
