A quick pit-stop to Rustboro City

Complete your task at Devon Corporation in Rustboro City, get the EXP. Share, and plan your route to Mauville City in Pokémon Ruby and Sapphire.

Alright, remember that city where you snagged your very first Gym Badge? We've got one quick thing to do there before we head out again. Head over to the Devon Corporation building and make your way to the very top floor. You'll want to chat with the president.

Since you already helped Captain Stern out, talk to him. He's going to give you a super handy item called the EXP. Share. Seriously, this thing is a game-changer for leveling up! Any Pokémon holding it will get half the experience points from battles, even if they didn't participate. It's perfect for beefing up your weaker team members and making those tough spots a lot easier.

That's pretty much it for Rustboro City! Since we can't get back to Meteor Falls the way we came (via Route 115), we'll need to head east onto Route 116. Make your way through Route 116 and then through the Rusturf Tunnel. This tunnel will lead us to Verdanturf Town.

Once you're in Verdanturf Town, head east again through Route 117. This path will eventually bring us to Mauville City. When you arrive in Mauville, make sure to visit the Bike Shop and grab the Acro Bike if you haven't already. Trust me, you'll probably need it for what's coming up.

With the Acro Bike in hand (or at least noted!), head north. We're aiming for Routes 111 and 112. Find the entrance to Fiery Path, but don't go in just yet. See that cable car ride to the right? Those Team Magma grunts who were blocking it are gone now. Head into the house nearby and talk to the person inside to request a cable car ride. As you ascend, you'll notice ash starting to fall from the mountains again. This time, though, you won't be able to collect it.
