BOSS - Cetus

  • Stats / Weaknesses: Cetus is an overgrown Fangfish with similar burrowing attacks. It can also shoot its tail from underground, lunge, smash its head, and shoot a large water ball that explodes.
  • Phases:
    • Cetus may burrow and extend its tongue. Attacking the tongue can deal damage to Cetus and potentially stun it.
    • When Cetus's health is low, it will roar and retreat underground. Its tail will emerge, spreading exploding algae. Destroy the algae quickly or dodge the explosions.
  • Strategy:
    • Watch for ground disturbances to anticipate burrowing attacks and tail strikes.
    • Dodge Cetus's lunges and head smashes.
    • When the tongue appears, attack it to deal damage and potentially stun the boss.
    • Be prepared to destroy or dodge the exploding algae when Cetus is low on health.
    • Keep an eye on your HP and heal as needed.
Tips
  • If you've completed optional sidequest skirmishes, you might be overleveled for this encounter.
  • If underleveled, try to lure enemies out one at a time.
  • Archers can be useful for taking out distant spear units from behind cover.
  • Shock Tactics can help clear groups of enemies.
  • Ensure you have Spring Lock to open blue chests.
