037 Tiller, Long-Distance Rower

Follow this guide to complete the 037 Tiller, Long-Distance Rower side quest in Ni no Kuni II: Revenant Kingdom. Find Tiller and gather his needed items.

This side quest, '037 Tiller, Long-Distance Rower,' kicks off in Capstan-upon-Hull, right by the item shop. You'll need to be in Chapter 5 and have already acquired your boat to start it. The reward for your efforts includes 940 Ep, 450 Gold, some specific fish (Flexible Fish x2, Frilly Fish x2, Wriggly Eel x2), and Tiller himself as a new citizen for your kingdom.

Evan's friend, Tiller, has big dreams of sailing the world, but he's starting with just a rowboat. Evan thinks a practice run nearby is a good idea, and Tiller mentions he'll be on a beach with a great view of the sea's rift. Your job is to meet him there. First, exit Capstan and hop into your boat. Keep an eye out for Starboard Isle to the south – it's the one with two very high-level Wavewyrms. Don't worry too much about them for now; your main goal is Tiller. You'll need to time your approach: wait for one of the Wavewyrms to turn away, then quickly disembark and talk to Tiller.

But that's not the end of it! Tiller decides to move on to a new spot near Hydropolis. Your map will show a blue circle, and you'll need to pinpoint Tiller's exact location within it. Luckily, his boat is a dead giveaway. Look for the small island just southeast of the one marked 'Mikronos.' Once you find him, he'll mention that this spot isn't ideal for living and sets sail again.

Next, your map will guide you to Sequoia Valley, located east of the Heartlands, across the ocean, and south of the icy regions. This area has a small explorable landmass, but be warned: the enemies here are around level 40. If you've researched 'Brisk Stroll' from the Explorer's Guild, you should be able to outrun them if you don't get too close. Your target here is Crawlspace Cave, situated at the top of this small landmass. Inside, you'll find Tiller, who's feeling pretty worn out and needs some medicine. The catch? He requires a Four-Leafed Soreaway, which you might not have yet, especially if you're tackling this quest early on.

The first opportunity to get a Four-Leafed Soreaway is during the main story quest, 'The Abyss,' in Chapter 5. You'll find it quite deep in the dungeon, near the bottom. Specifically, in the '3000 Fathoms Deep' area, grab the puffer whelk by the trip door to reach the chest containing the item. Once you have it, return to Crawlspace Cave and give the Four-Leafed Soreaway to Tiller. He'll then head back to Capstan. Your final step is to speak with him there to officially complete the quest.
