Follow our Ni no Kuni II: Revenant Kingdom walkthrough to complete 'The Search for the Sewers' quest. Learn about the arms band, weapon switching, and navigating Ding Dong Well.
Walkthrough
- 1Arms Band Tutorial: Learn about the Arms Band, your equipment storage. You can equip up to three melee weapons and one ranged weapon per character. The apparel tab allows equipping clothes, armor, footwear, and accessories for defense. The 'Equipment & Skills' tab lets you equip battle skills.
- 2Character Parameters: Understand the five numerical parameters: melee attack strength (sword), ranged attack strength (bow/arrow), magical attack strength (explosion symbol), physical defense (shield), and magical defense (barrier).
- 3Weapon Switching: Equip your starting weapons. You can switch weapons anytime using the L2 button if set to Manual or Semi-Automatic. In Semi-Automatic mode, weapons switch automatically after using a skill. Automatic mode switches weapons based on their Zing gauge.
- 4Zing Gauge: The percentage next to your weapons is the Zing gauge. It fills as you use a weapon, adding special effects to skills when at 100%.
- 5Waystones: These are your save points. Interacting with them restores HP, MP, and cures status ailments.
- 6Starting the Quest: Speak with Aranella after equipping Roland to receive 'Evan’s essentials,' which includes an arms band.
- 7Navigating the Area: Exit the room and head west. You'll encounter guards and learn about ranged attacks. Tap R1 button for quick ranged attacks or hold it for charged attacks (except Roland’s sidearm).
- 8Combat Tips: Block to minimize damage. Use Soreaways for health. Enemies can drop green orbs for health and blue orbs for MP. It's possible to sneak past enemies by taking a side path.
- 9Entering Ding Dong Well: Proceed through the next room and hallway. Open the secret doorway to arrive at Ding Dong Well.
- 10Ding Dong Well Exploration: Upon entering, you'll see 'sparkles' on the ground that yield items (Crude Sap, Iron Nugget). These items may be specific to the area and might not respawn.
- 11Goo Enemies: Encounter green slime enemies called Goo. An invisible barrier will form a battle arena. You can escape by moving to the edge of the arena until the Escape Gauge fills.
- 12Goo Combat: The Goos have a ranged attack; bait it out before rushing in. Enemies typically drop guilders and items upon defeat.
Tips
- Ranged attacks consume MP but have unlimited ammunition.
- Enemies drop guilders and items, which remain on the ground after battle.
