Learn how to complete the Diversionary Operation mission in Metal Gear Solid: Portable Ops. This guide covers enemy recruitment, unit management, and effective strategies.
Walkthrough
- 1Incapacitate enemy soldiers by knocking them out.
- 2Drag the unconscious soldier to a truck or a cardboard box.
- 3After completing or aborting the mission, the soldier will be in prison on the Squad Management screen.
- 4Soldiers in prison can have their equipment removed, names changed, or be disposed of.
- 5After a few in-game days, prisoners will join your unit. This process is accelerated if you have a soldier with the Politician career in your squad.
- 6Rescued captured soldiers, unique characters (with special conditions), soldiers recruited via AP Scan or passwords, and those who join via Cyber-Survival will join immediately.
Tips
- Unique Characters: Several unique characters like Jonathan, Para-Medic, Python, Raikov, Sigint, Sokolov, Eva, Venus, Teliko, and Gene (EU version) join immediately after capture/rescue. Zero can also be recruited via password if you don't own the Metal Gear Solid Digital Graphic Novel.
- Soldier Careers: Each soldier has a career that affects their abilities or unit functions. For example, Athletes are faster in the Infiltration Unit, while Chemists work on medicine development in the Medical Unit. Politicians speed up prisoner recruitment.
- Cyber-Survival: Use your recruited allies in Cyber-Survival mode via WLAN. Assign equipment and send them online. Monitor their condition after 12 hours. Be cautious, as losing can result in your soldiers being captured. Some soldiers may join you or give gifts (like Stealth Camouflage) if successful.
- Spy/Agent Career: Be cautious when using soldiers with the Spy/Agent career, as they decrease enemy life by 10%, but also decrease your recruits' life.
