The Good Thief

Follow this guide to complete 'The Good Thief' quest in Kingdom Come: Deliverance. Learn how to find the spade, dig up the grave, and infiltrate the executioner's house.

Alright, let's get this quest, 'The Good Thief,' sorted. You'll pick this one up from Miller Peshek over at the Rattay Mill. First things first, you need a spade. If you don't already have one, there's a cart right there on the mill grounds with one waiting for you. Grab it!

Now, the key to this whole thing is being sneaky. You'll want to wear something that doesn't make a lot of noise and isn't super noticeable. If your current gear is too flashy or loud, just unequip anything that has high noise or visibility ratings. Seriously, you can even do this whole quest in your birthday suit if you have to – no judgment here!

Once you're geared up for stealth, head over to Gallows Hill. You know, where the executioner does his thing? It'll be marked on your map. Dig up the grave there and have a look at the body. You'll notice the ring isn't on them, so it's back to Peshek you go. He'll tell you the ring is actually in the executioner's house.

Before you go poking around the executioner's place, do yourself a favor and visit the Apothecary in Rattay. Grab an Aesop potion, or craft one if you can. This little gem will stop the dogs from barking at you for a good 10 minutes, making your infiltration much smoother.

The best time to sneak into the executioner's house is at night when he's sound asleep. However, if you're feeling brave or it's the middle of the day, you can still manage it. Just keep an eye on his movements and slip in when he's away from the front door. The chest you're looking for is right there, to your left as soon as you enter the bedroom.

Once you've snagged the key, bring it back to Miller Peshek. He'll be chuffed and let you know he's always looking to buy stolen goods. To finish the quest, take the ring to Miller Kohelnitz. He's located northeast of the Rattay Mill.
