Next to Godliness

Follow this guide to complete the 'Next to Godliness' side quest in Kingdom Come: Deliverance, including fetching wine and dealing with a jealous husband.

Alright, so you've finished 'The Hunt' main quest, and Sir Hans Capon's got another little favor to ask. This one's called 'Next to Godliness,' and it kicks off a few days after that last big job. Head over to Pirkstein Castle, find Hans's chambers, and you'll see him laid up in bed. Have a chat with him, and he'll suggest meeting up at the bathhouse later that evening.

Make your way to the baths. If it's not quite dark yet, don't worry, just use the time dial there to fast-forward until evening. You'll know Hans is around because his horse will be waiting outside the gate. Head inside and look for him in the room at the very back, near the tents.

Now, if you try to go in too early, Hans will just tell you to wait until it's properly dark. So, use that time dial again and set it for 22:00. Once it's late enough, go on in and talk to him. Go through all the dialogue options, and then you'll have a little dice game with Zdena. After that, chat with Hans again, and you'll both head into the bath.

After a bit, Henry will get out of the bath. Talk to Sir Hans; he's got something on his mind. He'll send you out to grab some decent wine and a pitcher. Before you leave that room, though, make sure you grab the key labeled 'Sir Hans Capon's Keys' from the chest right next to the bathtub. Don't forget it!

The pitcher and the wine are chilling in the cellar of the Rathaus. To get to the cellar, find the alleyway that runs between the armourer and the weaponsmith. The door to the cellar is tucked away in there. You'll need Sir Hans's key to get into the storeroom first. Once inside, look for a door on your left – that's your ticket down to the cellar.

Keep an eye out in the storeroom and cellar, as there's a guard patrolling. You'll need to tell him you're fetching wine for Sir Hans. He might not buy it at first, so you'll need to use your best persuasion skill to convince him. Once that's sorted, find the pitcher on a tub to your right, and then head to the wine barrels to fill it up.

With the wine secured, take it back to the bathhouse. As you arrive, you'll see the husband of one of the bath maids trying to drown Sir Hans! You'll have to step in and beat him in a fistfight. After you've dealt with him, a cutscene will play out, and Henry and Sir Hans will continue their drinking session. You'll wake up the next morning with a bit of a hangover. Your last step is to head back to Pirkstein Castle to check on Sir Hans and wrap up the quest.
