Lost in Translation

Need help with the Lost in Translation side quest in Kingdom Come: Deliverance? Follow our guide to find a translator, interrogate a Cuman, and secure the hidden treasure.

Alright, so you've stumbled upon the 'Lost in Translation' quest in Kingdom Come: Deliverance, picked up from the miller just west of Ledetchko. He's got a Cuman prisoner and thinks this guy knows about some hidden treasure nearby. Your first job? Find someone who can actually talk to the Cuman.

Head north from the mill and look for a vagrant working with Miller Simon. Chat him up. If he's not feeling generous, you can pay him 40 Groschen to translate. Once you've got your translator, either go with him or meet him back at the mill where the Cuman's waiting. Time to start the interrogation!

Once the Cuman spills the beans about the treasure's location, head back to the miller. You'll need to agree on a split – Henry gets half of whatever you find. After that, talk to the Cuman again. He'll fast travel you to the stash location.

When you arrive, the Cuman will lead you right into an ambush! Watch out for his three armed buddies. Take them down, then search the area, especially around the bushes, to find the Cuman captive again.

Now you've got a choice: you can drag the Cuman all the way to Rattay, deal with him right there, or have him guide you to the stash. If you choose the latter, another fast travel will kick in, taking you to the treasure's hiding spot. Follow the Cuman down the slopes until you reach a tree trunk. Open up the stash – there's 200 Groschen waiting for you!

Your final decision is what to do with the Cuman. You can take him to Rattay, let him walk away, or end him there. Once that's sorted, take the treasure back to the miller and hand over his half. If you're feeling smooth and have decent charisma, you can even lie to him and keep all the Groschen for yourself. Either way, that wraps up the 'Lost in Translation' quest!
