Hey there! So you're diving into Humankind and want to tackle those 'Together We Rule' achievements, huh? This guide is gonna walk you through how to beat the game on its toughest difficulty, Humankind. Think of me as your seasoned co-pilot here. The game's still pretty new and might get updated a bunch, so some of this might change, but the core ideas should stick around.

Humankind Difficulty & General Strategy

Alright, let's talk about what makes the 'Humankind' difficulty so brutal. It's not that you get penalized directly, but the AI gets some sweet boosts:

  • Food: +3 per Farmer in all their cities.
  • Industry: +3 per Worker in all their cities.
  • Money: +3 per Trader in all their cities.
  • Science: +3 per Researcher in all their cities.
  • Stability: +60 on all their cities.
  • Combat: +2 Strength on all their units.

Now, those FIMS (Food, Industry, Money, Science) bonuses are flat. What that means is they're super strong early on when you don't have many workers, but they don't scale as well later. For example, an early AI city with 9 people and 3 workers gets +9 Industry. You might need a couple of Industry Districts to match that! But later, if an AI city has 60 people and 15 workers, that's a +45 Industry bonus. That's much easier to overcome with a single Mine or a special building like the Jama Masjid.

That +2 Combat Strength bonus is no joke, either. It's like giving their basic units the power of a unique one! Trying to fight them early on, especially in the Neolithic or Ancient eras, is usually a losing battle. You'll want to avoid combat until at least the Classical era, and often the Medieval is a safer bet. As you get further into the game, picking up the 'Professional Soldiers' civic and leaning towards the 'Homeland' ideology can help even out this combat deficit.

The stability bonus is a bit harder to pin down, but it probably gets less impactful as the game goes on and you unlock more ways to boost stability. Your best bet to counter this is to focus on trading for luxury resources.

So, the general game plan is:

  1. Avoid early wars: Seriously, don't pick fights until at least the Classical era, and usually, the Medieval is better.
  2. Trade for luxuries: Get those luxury resources flowing through trade to keep your stability up.
  3. Go wide, not tall: Start with cultures good at building and farming (like Agrarian and Builder types) and focus on expanding your empire rather than making one or two cities super powerful. This helps you scale better into the late game when the AI's early bonuses start to fade.
  4. Win by Fame: The ultimate goal is to rack up as many Stars/Fame as possible.
