B. BZ Gas Grenades (The Smart Approach)

This part is all about being sneaky. Your main goal is to get the van carrying the BZ Gas Grenades without anyone noticing you. The 100% score requirement here is called Sneaky Pest, and it means you absolutely cannot be spotted.

Weapons Needed:

• Pistol (silenced)
• Micro SMG (silenced)

The Plan:

First, head to the moving marker on the map to kick off the mission. Once you're in position, get behind the van. You'll need to shoot at the back doors. The trick is to open them up so the gas spills out, but you need to do this without making the driver react. Using a silenced weapon is key here to keep things quiet.

As soon as the doors open and the gas is released, grab it. You'll likely get a 1-Star Wanted Rating, so make sure to lose that. After you've ditched the cops, drive back to the Garment Factory. Drop the gas inside the room on the upper level, and then give Lester a call to wrap this setup up.

100% Score Requirement:

• Sneaky Pest: You need to get the van without being spotted. Stick to silenced weapons and avoid direct confrontation.

C. Carbine Rifles (The Loud Approach)

This setup mission involves intercepting an LSPD van carrying the Carbine Rifles you need for the heist. The 100% score requirement is Loose Cargo, which means you have to shoot open the back doors to release the gas. This is a bit more action-packed.

The Plan:

Lester will text you about an LSPD van carrying the rifles, and a marker will pop up on your map. It's crucial that you intercept this van before it reaches the Mission Row Police Station, or you'll fail the mission. So, pay close attention to the map!

Here's a pro tip: While you're waiting for Lester's text, drive Franklin to Elgin Ave. and park near the northeast exit ramp of the Olympic Freeway. This is where the van will eventually come out. It might take a little while, so be patient and stay put.

When the van gets close, block the exit ramp with your car. As it approaches, quickly switch to your silenced Micro SMG and take out all four SWAT officers inside the van while you're still in your car. Once they're down, you need to quickly switch to another vehicle and start losing the 3-Star Wanted Rating.

A good spot to try and lose the cops is under the freeway bridge, then head north into the hobo encampment. The tents there can help you break line of sight, but be warned, they're indestructible. If the cops lose you here, great! If not, head for the Los Santos River and use the tunnel at the north end to try and shake them.

Once you've lost the wanted level, drive to the Garment Factory to complete the mission.

100% Score Requirement:

• Loose Cargo: You need to shoot open the back doors of the van to release the gas.

Swift Getaway (100% Score for Loose Cargo):

• Requirement: You need to lose the Wanted Rating within two minutes.
• Replay Tip: If you're replaying this, you'll start just behind the van near Backlot City. It'll eventually pass the broken railing where you dropped onto the freeway during a previous heist. Speed ahead of the van, stop near the signal light by the railing, and ambush it as before. After switching vehicles, drop onto the freeway and drive into the subway construction tunnel. You should lose the rating quickly. Continue driving through the tunnel to the other end, as this leads you towards the Garment Factory.

After completing these setup missions, you'll automatically move on to the main heist itself, starting with The Jewel Store Job.

VHT2. The Jewel Store Job (Both Approaches)

Now it's time for the main event! This section covers the actual heist at Vangelico's, whether you chose The Smart Approach or The Loud Approach during the setups.

• Micro SMG
• Carbine Rifles

The Plan:

The Smart Way:

Get in your car and drive to Vangelico's. Once you arrive at the marker, you'll switch to Franklin. Your task is to climb to the roof. Head to the marker on the north side of the roof. Once there, switch to your Gas Grenades using the Weapon Wheel. Aim just inside the large vent and throw two of them. This should be enough to incapacitate everyone inside the store without raising an alarm.

The Loud Way:

You'll start this approach as Franklin. Get into the van and drive it to Vangelico's.

At this point, you'll switch back to Michael. Enter the store and grab as much loot as you can. The better hacker you chose during the setup will determine how long you have before the alarm goes off. Even with a less experienced hacker like Rickie, you should be able to grab a good amount before the alarm triggers. Your hacker will usually let you know when the alarm is about to sound, so make sure to get out before it does. The amount you grab needs to be in the green to be considered successful.

Note: If you chose The Loud Approach, someone might leave the safe room and enter the store area. How this plays out depends on the gunman you selected during the heist setup.
