Walkthrough

    Go into the hills north of the base, overlooking the sewage treatment plant.

    Use a Sniper Rifle to shoot one of the patrolling tanks inside the base. This will give you a 2-Star Wanted Rating.

    The tanks will leave the base and head towards your position. Stay high up and out of their view.

    At least one tank will enter the plant and roam below you. Wait for the Wanted Rating to disappear.

    Quickly climb down and steal the tank before it can leave the area. This will result in another 2-Star Wanted Rating.

    Head to the beach to the west without running over any vehicles to lose the Wanted Rating.

    Take your tank to a storage location.
Tips
  • The tank's cannon is very powerful and can destroy multiple vehicles at once. It can also angle high enough to shoot down low-flying helicopters.
  • The tank can be destroyed by gunfire and explosive collisions.
  • Losing the 2-Star Wanted Rating after stealing the tank is easier than losing a 4-Star Wanted Rating.

The Impound Lot is located at the Mission Row Police Station. If you are driving a car that is not your personal vehicle, there is a risk of it being impounded by the Cops. It will cost $200 to retrieve the vehicle. The Cops can only impound one car at a time.

  • Cars in Grand Theft Auto VI are more durable than in Grand Theft Auto IV, designed to withstand more firearm damage.
  • The weakest point of a car is the engine, but it still requires considerable damage to catch fire.
  • Blowing out the tires or ruining the alignment can slow down a car.

Los Santos Customs can also repair your vehicle and offer a wide variety of modifications, including armor and cosmetic changes. Each modification has several levels, becoming more extensive and expensive. Not all levels are available at the start and will unlock as you progress through the game. There are five Los Santos Customs and other garages in Blaine County and Los Santos.
