Learn how to perform the Angelo Search grind in Final Fantasy VIII Remastered. Optimize Rinoa's Angelo Search ability for idle item farming with this comprehensive guide.
The Angelo Search ability in Final Fantasy VIII Remastered allows for idle item grinding. This guide details the setup and strategy required to maximize its effectiveness.
Walkthrough
- 1Setup Requirements:
- Rinoa must be in your party.
- 2Rinoa must have learned the Angelo Search ability (from Pet Pals Vol.5).
- 3Do NOT learn Angelo Recover or Angelo Reverse, as they can interfere with Angelo Search.
- 4Avoid acquiring the Odin GF before Disc 4. If Odin is acquired, do not complete Lunatic Pandora, as the Giglamesh GF will join you, preventing Angelo Search.
- 5Prepare stocks of Confuse, and optionally LV Up (for low-level players) and LV Down (to avoid XP gain).
- 6Ensure one character has a low Strength stat by unjunctioning magic from Strength and unequipping Str+60% if necessary.
- 7Targeting Turtapods:
- Turtapods are the ideal enemies for this grind and can be found in the city of Esthar on the world map (not within the city itself).
- 8If encountered with an Imp, defeat the Imp first. Use LV Down if you wish to minimize XP gain.
- 9If the Turtapod is Level 30 or higher (use LV Up if your party's levels are low), it will defend when attacked.
- 10Cast Confusion on the Turtapod. If it fails, try again. You can use Cure/Cura/Curaga to heal the Turtapod if needed.
- 11Once Confused and defending, the Turtapod will remain passive, allowing Angelo Search to trigger during idle time.
- 12Idle Grinding:
- Leave the game running. Angelo Search will trigger periodically, with Angelo digging for items.
- 13Periodically check your gains. The process is designed to be an idle endeavor.
- 14After accumulating desired items, defeat the Turtapod, save your game, and check your inventory.
