Alright, you've finally got your hands on the Ragnarok! This is a huge moment, opening up the world map for some serious exploration and side-questing. But first, we've got some unfinished business: Rinoa needs rescuing, *again*. It feels like that's been the main theme of Disc 3, right?

Before we get too deep into the new freedom, let's get Rinoa back. You have two options to reach the Esthar Sorceress Memorial, where she's being held. You can either pull up your world map, move the cursor to the central map marker in Esthar (it's southeast of the city itself), and press [Talk/Confirm] to fast travel. Or, if you prefer a more hands-on approach, just fly the Ragnarok northeast from your current location until you spot it. Either way works!

Once you land, head into the Esthar Sorceress Memorial and go upstairs. Keep an eye out for a Stop draw point on your left. When you get to the door, you'll encounter two guards. Don't worry, they're actually pretty chill. The engineers inside are a bit less understanding, but hey, that's the price of love, right? Head left and approach the containment device holding Rinoa. After the scenes play out, you'll find yourself back on the Ragnarok. Rinoa will then ask to go to Edea's House.

So, fly or fast travel to Edea's House. Once you're there, enter the grounds of the ruined orphanage. You should spot Angelo, the dog. Follow Angelo when he runs left; he'll lead you to a field of flowers. After your companions step away, talk to Angelo, and Squall will start thinking about Rinoa. Soon after, Rinoa herself will show up, and you'll get another scene between her and Squall. It'll touch on some of those cryptic hints from the game's intro movie, which is pretty cool. Before you know it, a companion will interrupt, explaining that Esthar has a plan to deal with the sorceress threat and they want to hire SeeD. Squall is a bit hesitant at first, but a key name-drop convinces him: you need to return to Esthar and hear them out.

Tips
  • Don't forget to grab that Stop draw point on your way out of the Sorceress Memorial!
  • The Ragnarok gives you a lot of freedom. Once Rinoa is safe and sound, consider exploring some of the side content you might have missed.
  • Pay attention to the dialogue in Edea's House; it ties back to the game's intro and Rinoa's condition.
