Walkthrough
  1. 1
Head through the first screen and up a circular path to reach the Galbadia Garden turnstiles.
  2. 2
Quistis will volunteer to speak with the headmaster, potentially requiring you to reorganize your party.
  3. 3
Pass through the turnstile and enter Galbadia Garden.
  4. 4
In the main hall, you'll find a Save Point and four branching paths. A text prompt will direct you to the “2F reception room”.
  5. 5
Take the upper left exit and proceed to the next screen.
  6. 6
Ascend the stairs and enter the door near the man in the tracksuit.
  7. 7
Talk to Zell to advance the plot. Quistis will arrive with news about Seifer.
  8. 8
Talk to Rinoa, then walk north of Quistis to trigger a scene with Squall.
  9. 9
Leave the garden and return to the hall. You will be intercepted by Raijin and Fujin, who mention new orders from Balamb Garden before leaving to find Seifer.
  10. 10
After more news regarding Seifer, Squall will have a tantrum.
  11. 11
An announcement will direct you to the Galbadia Garden gate. Head down to the turnstile area, talk to Quistis, then proceed down to meet the rest of the squad.
  12. 12
Talk to Rinoa. Headmaster Martine will arrive and give new orders.
  13. 13
You will be assigned Irvine Kinneas, a sharpshooter with a shotgun, to assist with your next mission.
  14. 14
Squall will read out the new orders: head to Deling City to meet General Caraway and discuss the assassination of Galbadia’s new sorceress.
  15. 15
As you attempt to leave, Irvine will try to join a party with a favorable female-to-male ratio. Your party composition can be changed later via the Switch command.
Tips
  • Before leaving Galbadia Garden, you can obtain valuable Level 6 Boss cards.
  • To find the student with these cards, go to the hall with the Save Point and take the upper right exit.
  • In the hallway, enter the classroom on the right. Challenge the girl inside to a card game.
  • Galbadia Garden uses the same card rules as Timber.
  • The table below shows the cards and their Card Mod items:
    • Abadon → Dark Ammo x30
  • Elvoret → Death Stones x10
  • Fujin, Raijin → X-Potion x1
  • Gerogero → Circlet x1
  • Granaldo → G-Returner x1
  • Krysta → Holy Stone x10
  • Iguion → Cockatrice Pinion x1
  • Oilboyle → Fire Ammo x30
  • Shumi Tribe → Gambler Spirit x1
  • Trauma → Demolition Ammo x30
  • X-ATM092 → Turtle Shell x1
  • While many Card Mod items are not particularly useful (Ammo, Death Stones, X-Potions, Cockatrice Pinions, Turtle Shells), the Circlet (from Gerogero) teaches GFs Mag +20% and refines into Aura Stones.
  • G-Returners (from Granaldo) are situationally useful.
  • Gambler’s Spirit (from Shumi Tribe) teaches the Card ability to GFs.
  • The best item to obtain is Holy Stones (from Krysta), which refine into Holy spells. Holy junctions well into Strength.
