Guide to completing the Missing Vase Quest in Final Fantasy VIII Remastered. Find all vase pieces in Winhill and claim your reward.

Walkthrough
  1. 1
Travel to Winhill on the southwestern end of the Galbadian continent. Use the eastern entrance to reach the town square.
  2. 2
Enter the large house at the top of the town square and speak to the man in beige/brown standing on the stairs. He will mention his heirloom vase and a ghost.
  3. 3
Ensure Quistis or Irvine are in your party. Return to the mansion and examine the suit of armor on the left side. A critter will flee, leaving a vase piece.
  4. 4
Exit the mansion and enter the lower of the two houses to the left (Raine’s bar). Go upstairs and talk to the blonde woman until she mentions flowers downstairs.
  5. 5
Go downstairs and examine the white flowers on the table in the lower-right of the screen. An apparition of Raine will appear behind the bar. Talk to the cat that appears to get the second vase piece.
  6. 6
Exit the mansion and cross the bridge at the bottom of the town square. In the next screen, enter the house to the left at the three-way intersection.
  7. 7
Examine the white flowers at the bottom of the screen in the old lady’s house. Respond “Yes” when she asks if you like flowers. Examine the same flowers again to find the third vase piece.
  8. 8
Exit the old lady’s house and go down to the next screen. Find the chicobos running in the intersection. Interact with one to send it flying and get the fourth vase piece.
  9. 9
Return to the man in the mansion and give him the broken vase pieces.
Tips
  • After finding the fourth vase piece by interacting with a chicobo, chase another chicobo to receive Gysahl Greens.
  • Chase two more chicobos to receive a Phoenix Down.
  • Be careful not to interact with too many chicobos, as they will become wary and flee, potentially angering a mama chocobo.
