Walkthrough

    Enter Zell's house and speak with Ma Dincht in the room to the right. She will identify one of the occupiers as Fujin.

    Exit Zell's house and head down and to the right. Speak with the soldiers outside the hotel; they will prevent you from entering and mention their captain is on patrol.

    Return to Zell's house and enter his room to speak with Zell and your third party member. You can save your game at a nearby Save Point here.

    Exit Zell's house and go to the docks. Continue up past a Galbadian Soldier to reach the upper screen of the docks. There is a Cure draw point in the water off a platform.

    To the right, speak with the Galbadian Soldier near the bottom of the screen who has a dog. He will tell you the captain was fishing and went to cook his catch.

    Return to Zell's house and speak with Ma Dincht. She will confirm someone was in the house cooking fish.

    Find the captain using one of two methods:
    • Go to the train station and speak repeatedly with the downed Galbadian Soldier in front of the train car steps. He will move forward each time, eventually clearing the way to board the train and find the captain.

    Return to the docks, speak to the Galbadian Soldier's dog, and follow it to the train station where it will find the captain. This method is more direct and may raise your SeeD rank.

    Return to the Balamb hotel and confront the captain.

Boss - Raijin and Galbadian Soldiers x2

Raijin is level 1-29 and has 4,000 HP at level 10, 8,000 HP at level 20, and 11,600 HP at level 28. He is weak to Poison (150% damage) and absorbs Thunder. He is immune to most status effects but susceptible to Darkness (40%) and Slow (40%). The two Galbadian Soldiers can be drawn from for Cure. Raijin can be drawn from for Protect, Shell, Thunder, and Thundara. You can Mug Raijin for two Str Up items, and he drops one Str Up when defeated.

Tips
  • Mugging Raijin for two Str Up items is more beneficial than simply defeating him for one.
  • Junctioning poison to your Elemental Attack will make the fight easier.
  • Junctioning Aero or Tornado to your Elemental Defense can help mitigate damage for a short time.
  • Do not use Thunder-based attacks against Raijin as he absorbs them.
