Using the Chara World

Alright, let's talk about the Chara World in Disgaea 5! It's a super useful place, and one of its biggest draws is helping you max out your characters' Equipment Aptitudes, which can go all the way up to a whopping 300%. It's definitely a grind, but we can make it more manageable.

First things first, you'll want to reincarnate the character you're focusing on five times. Each time you do this, you get an extra 5% bonus to all aptitudes, stacking up to a maximum of 25%. This alone will save you a ton of time!

For the rest of the grind, you'll want to focus on the Super Overlord difficulty. Why? Because that's where you'll find Miss Evil! Once you meet her for the first time, a new bill called 'Challenge an Evil Person!' will pop up in the Dark Assembly. If you pass it, Miss Evil will always show up on your next Chara World visit. The big reason we want to see her is that she drops the Dowsing Rod item. When you use this item during a Chara World run, you'll get a sweet 2% boost to all aptitudes for that entire run.

Now, there's a little catch with aptitudes during a Chara World run: they cap at 5% per run (the bonus room choices are separate from this). So, getting more than 5% from regular gameplay in a run is basically useless. Thankfully, there's always a Dark Heart at the start of every run, giving you a guaranteed 3%. If you want to hit that 5% cap, you'll need to get lucky with the other 2%. Sometimes, you'll get an Imp or Orc event on a green mystery panel, which can spawn two more Dark Hearts. Otherwise, you're hoping for a Hot Spring event or just getting random increases from aptitude panels. It's a bit of luck, but that 3% is always there for you!
