Learn how to farm Statisticians in Disgaea 5: Alliance of Vengeance to maximize your experience gains. This guide covers Innocent Aid Squad, Hunter Squad, and Item World strategies for efficient farming.
Statisticians are special Innocents that significantly boost the experience gained from defeating enemies when equipped on any item. A single stack can reach a maximum of 900, and unlike previous Disgaea titles, each character can only have one stack. Statisticians can appear randomly on any equipment, so it's recommended to check your items and transfer any found Statisticians to the Innocent Warehouse. From there, you have two main options: either max out the Innocent Aid Squad or not.
Maxing out the Innocent Aid Squad allows you to utilize the Innocent Farm to accumulate a large stack of Statisticians. To do this, you'll need to venture into the Item World to subdue Innocents. Before that, however, it's crucial to unlock and max out the Hunter Squad by subduing 10 Innocents. This squad enhances the effectiveness of subdued Innocents, multiplying their stats when your characters are assigned to it.
It is most efficient to subdue Innocents on low-rank items, such as a Thimble, as this keeps enemy and Innocent levels low. Before placing Innocents on an item, progress through 10 floors and, upon reaching the first Innocent Town, set the item route to 'Innocent Route.' With this setting and a character in a maxed Hunter Squad, any subdued Innocent will be multiplied by 8 (e.g., 2 Statisticians become 16).
Afterward, place all your Statisticians on the item and proceed through 10 floors at a time. Collect any Innocents you find and replace the subdued ones with fresh ones. If you chose to max out the Innocent Aid Squad, you can combine the Statisticians into two even stacks and place them in the Innocent Farm. While they are growing, you can focus on other tasks like leveling up characters. Eventually, these Innocents will reproduce, creating a new Statistician that is already subdued. You can either combine this new Statistician with one of your existing stacks or set it aside until you acquire another to maintain even stack sizes. Continue this process until you achieve a full stack of 900.
Increasing Your Strength
With a max stack of 900 Statisticians, you can now begin to level up effectively for the postgame maps and unlock the Carnage Dimension. If you can defeat the Bears in Martial Training 4 in a single turn, you are ready to proceed there. Otherwise, remain in Martial Training 1 with one-star enemy strength until you can consistently clear it. Once you can handle MT4 with ease, gradually increase the enemy strength to maintain steady leveling progress. It's important to note that reaching level 9999 is not required to clear the pre-Carnage Dimension maps.
Another way to increase your strength is by acquiring better equipment. Shops only offer items up to Rank 34, meaning any equipment stronger than that must be obtained from the Item World. This is where a Thief character becomes invaluable, as stealing can often be more effective than relying on the Bonus Gauge. In Disgaea 5, stealing success is primarily determined by your stats rather than just your level, so increasing your Thief's HIT stat will improve your chances.
In addition to obtaining higher-rank equipment, you should also level it up. You don't need to invest heavily, as you will soon gain access to significantly superior gear. Therefore, it's generally sufficient to level up weapons and armor/accessories to around levels 10-20. This will provide a noticeable, though not drastic, increase in your stats, making subsequent stages more manageable for your characters.
