Master the Archer class in Disgaea 5: Alliance of Vengeance! Learn about its resistances, stat aptitudes, weapon masteries, unique skills, and powerful evilities to dominate the battlefield.

Alright, let's break down the Archer class in Disgaea 5. This class is all about ranged attacks and supporting your team, so if you like picking off enemies from a distance, this might be the one for you. We'll go over its strengths, weaknesses, and how to get the most out of it.

Resistances

First off, let's see what the Archer is good at resisting. They've got a decent 25% resistance to Fire and Wind, but they're completely neutral to Ice. When it comes to weapon types, they're surprisingly good against Bows (50%) and Guns (20%), but they're a bit weak against Spears (-20%) and Monsters (-20%).

Stat Aptitudes

Stat aptitudes are super important because they determine how well a character grows in each stat. The Archer starts off pretty balanced, but as you rank them up, they get some serious boosts, especially in HP, SP, ATK, and RES. The higher-tier classes like the Bow Master and Freischutz really shine here, getting up to 125% HP, SP, ATK, and a massive 135% RES!

Weapon Masteries

When it comes to weapons, the Archer is obviously a Bow specialist, getting an 'A' rank right off the bat. They're also decent with Spears and Guns (C rank), and can even use Swords and Staffs at a lower level. Axes? Not so much, they're pretty much useless with those.

Skills

The Archer has a couple of handy skills. At level 10, you get Hit Force, which is great because it guarantees your next attack will hit. Then, at level 30, there's Strange Shot, which can inflict a bunch of nasty status effects like Poison, Paralysis, Amnesia, Weaken, or Sleep. Definitely useful for debuffing enemies!

Evilities

Evilities are where the Archer really starts to shine. Their unique Evility, Support Attack, is fantastic for building up those combo bonuses. Basically, if an ally attacks an enemy within the Archer's range, the Archer will also get a free normal attack on that enemy. It's a great way to rack up damage!

Then you have Hit Mastery, which boosts your HIT aptitude by 10%. It's okay early on, but honestly, it falls off pretty quickly and you'll probably want to use those slots for something else later.

Bow Range is a must-have if you're using bows, as it increases your attack range by one panel. More range means more safety and more opportunities to attack. Arrow in the Knee is interesting; it decreases an enemy's SPD by 10% after you attack them with a bow. While Archers usually hit their targets, slowing down an enemy can help reduce their damage output.

Fly Swatter is a situational but powerful Evility that boosts your ATK by 100% when attacking flying units. If you're facing a lot of flyers, slap this on! Finally, Support Fire increases the damage of your support attacks by 50%. This is really good if you're planning to rely heavily on the Support Attack Evility with strong characters.
