Discover your role as a Bell Keeper in Dark Souls II: Scholar of the First Sin. Learn how to invade, defend the bell tower, and earn rewards.

So, you've decided to join the Bell Keepers? Awesome! It's a pretty unique covenant that throws you right into the action. Once you join, you'll get a Bell Keeper's Seal ring and five Rusted Coins to get you started. Your main gig here is to defend the bell tower you joined from any unwelcome visitors.

Think of yourself as a guardian. When someone tries to mess with the bell tower, you'll be summoned in to take them down. Most of the time, you'll be defending the same tower you joined the covenant in. But if there aren't any suitable hosts to invade there, the game will send you to another bell tower instead. You'll know you're in the matchmaking queue when your Bell Keeper covenant icon starts pulsing with light.

The exact spot you'll spawn in can vary. In Belfry Luna, you'll often appear right near the top of the tower, close to the door leading to the Belfry Gargoyles boss fight. If the host you're invading manages to get into that boss fight while you're there, you'll be sent back to your own world. For Belfry Sol, the spawn points are usually around the ballista, near the switch for the bell, or close to the exit.

Successfully defeating an invader is pretty rewarding – you'll get a Titanite Chunk for your troubles. Plus, being a Bell Keeper has another perk: certain enemies will start dropping covenant items more often. Keep an eye out for the Undead Aberrations in Sinner's Rise; they have a high chance of dropping the Bell Keeper Bow and Bell Keeper Shield, which are pretty neat.
