Bonfires serve as crucial checkpoints and fast travel points in Dark Souls II: Scholar of the First Sin. Resting at a bonfire respawns the player there upon death, and they will lose all carried souls. Bonfires can also be used to light torches, providing light in dark environments. Players can teleport to any kindled bonfire they have discovered.

NOTE: Some Bonfires are inaccessible until later in the game.

Bonfires and Their Locations:

1. Fire Keepers' Dwelling — Things Betwixt: After waking up on the altar, proceed straight over the ramp, through the rockface gap, and across the wooden bridge into the house. Exit the house through the opposite side you entered; the bonfire is just outside.
2. The Far Fire — Majula: Upon entering Majula, follow the path and go through the broken arch. The bonfire is located to your far right.
3. The Crestfallen's Retreat — Forest of Fallen Giants: At the start of the area, proceed straight ahead over the small river to find the bonfire.
4. Cardinal Tower — Forest of Fallen Giants: Enter the ruined fortress near the Heide Knight. Go upstairs until you reach the roof. Defeat the nearby enemies, ascend the ladder, and pass through the large doors in the tower to your right to find the bonfire and Merchant Hag Melentia.
5. Soldier's Rest — Forest of Fallen Giants: If you possess the Soldier Key, descend the ladder near the Cardinal Tower Bonfire and head towards the former misty gate. Enter the room, turn right, and proceed through the door. Continue down the hall, defeating any enemies, then pass through the next door. You will then traverse a dilapidated structure before arriving at the bonfire outside.
6. The Place Unbeknownst — Forest of Fallen Giants: From the Cardinal Bonfire, descend the ladder into the ground and turn right. Cross the bridge and unlock the door with the Soldier's Key. Turn left and equip the King's Ring. The bonfire is located behind this gate.
7. Heide's Ruin — Heide's Tower of Flame: After entering the area, you will encounter an old knight. To his left are stairs leading to this bonfire.
8. Tower of Flame — Heide's Tower of Flame: This bonfire is situated just above the area where the Dragonrider boss is fought, but it can only be utilized after the boss has been defeated.
