Defeat Mytha, the Baneful Queen in Dark Souls II: Scholar of the First Sin. Learn strategies, item locations, and the importance of burning the windmill.
Walkthrough
- 1Return to the balcony and proceed to the end, past the wood railing. Cut down the railing and pick up the nearby item to obtain a Simpleton's Spice.
- 2Pull the lever to raise a platform on your right. Collect the Divine Blessing and the Soul of a Proud Knight from the newly exposed area. Be aware that the platform will not remain elevated for long.
- 3To access additional loot, wait for the platform to descend. Pull the lever again, and quickly get onto the platform before it moves. This will transport you to a coffer containing a Mirrah Shield.
- 4Jump down and climb the ladder next to the platform. Proceed down the hallway to the right.
- 5Talk to the man in the room below you, then return to the main hallway and defeat the mage knight ahead. Be cautious of the nearby poison pots.
- 6Ascend the stairs to your left. At the top, defeat the two pyromancers and the mage knight. Loot the coffer containing a Pharros' Lockstone, but be aware it is filled with poison.
- 7Descend the stairs and continue straight until you encounter another pyromancer. Defeat it using a ranged attack.
- 8Prepare for a challenging jump to the adjacent platform. Jump at the last possible moment, aiming for the left side of the landing area.
- 9Collect the item at the end of this platform to acquire a Radiant Lifegem. Then, take the Crimson Water and the Soul of a Brave Warrior from the coffer.
- 10Before returning, locate the item on the bridge below. Fall directly from your current position to reach it, obtaining a Human Effigy and a Poison Broadsword.
- 11Jump to the platform by the wall, head left, and ascend the stairs to return to your previous floor.
- 12Go back to the room leading to the balcony and climb the ladder. Enter the hallway on your left and proceed up the stairs.
- 13Defeat the mage knight and pyromancers at the top of the stairs, avoiding the poisonous pots near the pyromancers. Continue around the corner, go upstairs, and defeat the next pyromancer.
- 14In the following room, two mage knights guard a door leading to the boss. Ignore them for now and take the stairs in the middle of the room.
- 15Smash the pots on your right, but do so from a maximum range to avoid poison.
- 16Behind the broken pots, a pack of poisonous bugs awaits. Defeat them quickly to prevent significant damage from their gas attacks.
- 17Collect the Smooth & Silky Stone from the corner. Then, attack (do not open) the chest to obtain a Work Hook and a set of Dark Gauntlets.
- 18Do not use a Pharros' Lockstone on the face up the stairs; leave the room.
- 19Proceed up the next set of stairs to defeat an Invader and loot Brigand Gauntlets +5.
- 20At the end of the subsequent hallway, interact with the wall on your right, even without an on-screen indicator, to reveal a hidden wall.
- 21Light the bonfire behind the hidden wall.
- 22Go to the other side of the room and interact with another wall to reveal a second hidden wall. Loot the Petrified Something from the chest behind it.
- 23Return downstairs and defeat the two mage knights guarding the path to the boss.
- 24Collect the Poison Stone from the corner.
- 25Proceed upstairs and pass through the misty door to initiate the boss fight against Mytha, the Baneful Queen.
Tips
- To significantly reduce the difficulty of the fight against Mytha, the Baneful Queen, it is highly advisable to burn the windmill located earlier in the area. This action limits the spread of poison on the battlefield, making it only present at the edges.
- If you choose to fight Mytha without burning the windmill, be prepared for a much more challenging encounter due to the pervasive poison.
- The poison on the battlefield can regenerate Mytha's health, making its removal crucial for a successful fight.
- During the boss fight, stay close to Mytha unless she approaches the poison areas.
- Mytha primarily attacks with a three-hit spear combo and a close-range body spin. These attacks can be blocked with minimal stamina loss.
- Be aware that there is limited downtime between Mytha's attack patterns, allowing only a couple of hits before she resumes her assault.
