Explore the intricacies of Battlefield Hardline's weapon customization in Part 71, detailing chokes, grips, and camouflage options to enhance your gameplay.
This section of the guide delves into weapon attachments and customization options available in Battlefield Hardline, focusing on chokes, grips, and camouflage.
Chokes
Chokes are fitted to shotgun muzzles to tighten the spread of pellets, increasing effectiveness on aimed shots at range. However, they also increase hipfire spread.
- Modified Choke: Tightens pellet cone by 20%, increases hipfire spread by 20%. May also increase recoil.
- Full Choke: Tightens pellet cone by 40%, increases hipfire spread by 50%. May also increase recoil.
Chokes are not available for the Double-Barrel Shotgun (though its barrel attachment acts as a full choke) or with slug rounds in other shotguns. The duckbill choke from BF4 is not present in Hardline.
Grips
Three types of underbarrel foregrips are available, offering bonuses to accuracy or recoil. Unlike BF4, there are no cosmetic variations, but each grip type has a unique visual design depending on the weapon. Grips have no statistical penalties and are always recommended if the weapon accepts one.
- Vertical Grip: Reduces moving ADS/hipfire spread by 50% and stationary hipfire spread by 25%. Most effective for close-quarters, run-and-gun playstyles. It helps mitigate increased spread when moving or hipfiring.
- Angled Grip: Reduces the first-shot recoil multiplier by 33%. Ideal for short, controlled bursts or semi-automatic weapons.
- Stubby Grip: Reduces ADS Spread Increase Per Shot (SIPS) by 50%, hipfire SIPS by 15%, and maximum ADS spread by 50%. Beneficial for maintaining accuracy during longer bursts at range.
Camo
Hardline features an extensive range of camouflage and color combinations for weapons, applied in the final weapon slot.
- Solid Options: Seven standard solid colors (black, FDE, green, etc.) are available for $5,000 each and can be used on any gun after purchase.
- Camouflage Patterns: Various patterns (splinter, digital, ERDL, hexagon) with different color schemes (jungle, forest, desert) are unlocked randomly through Battlepacks.
- Special Options: Fluoro zebra patterns can be purchased. Bronze, silver, and gold metallic options are unlocked for a specific weapon by achieving 100, 250, and 500 kills respectively (Bronze, Silver, and Gold Service Stars).
