Battlefield Hardline M240B, MG36, and Nail Gun stats, including damage, recoil, and availability.

MG36

The MG36, a light machinegun (LMG) variant of the HK G36 assault rifle, is depicted in Battlefield Hardline as a G36 with a larger drum magazine. It features a first-shot recoil multiplier of one, allowing for controlled bursts. The pickup version includes a Comp M4s sight and a laser sight for tighter hipfire, while the LMG Armory version lacks the laser. The bipod attachment, present in other Battlefield titles, is removed in Hardline. The magazine is modeled on the Beta C-Mag and has an authentic 100-round capacity, a significant increase from the 50 rounds in BF3. Unlike in BF4, the bipod cannot be used to negate recoil.

M240B

Summary: The M240B utilizes the heavier 7.62x51mm NATO load, delivering more damage than the MG36. It achieves a three-hit kill up to 46 meters in Normal mode and a two-hit kill to 51 meters in Hardcore. Its fire-rate is 600 RPM with a 100-round capacity and a 6.75-second reload time. The weapon comes with an additional 100 rounds. Recoil is heavy but balanced horizontally, with a multiplier of only 0.5, making it controllable when tap-fired. The M240B is equipped with a Holo sight and a flash hider.

Patched:

  • The April 28 patch increased the minimum damage from 24 to 25, standardizing the 7.62mm battle-rifle damage profile and adding the potential for a four-hit kill at range.
  • The September 16 update extended the damage drop-off start and end distances by 10 meters, matching the FAL battle rifle's profile.

Nail Gun

Availability: The Nail Gun is available on all four maps in the Criminal Activity (DLC (downloadable content — extra missions or items released after launch)), on the Night Woods bonus map, and on Break Pointe and Precinct 7 in the Robbery expansion.

Summary: Despite a nominal fire-rate of 900 RPM, the Nail Gun fires semi-automatically, limited by the player's trigger pull speed. It deals heavy damage, capable of a two-body-shot kill or a single (headshot (a shot that lands on the enemy's head, usually an instant kill)) kill within 15 meters. It offers good accuracy in hipfire and when aiming down sights (ADS), though it lacks actual sights. Its effective range is significantly limited by projectile velocity (150 m/s) and high gravity acceleration (80 m/s²).

Tips
  • For the M240B, avoid unnecessary reloads and find a safe spot when the belt-fed weapon runs dry due to its slow reload time.
  • The MG36's bipod attachment, which could negate recoil in other Battlefield titles, is unavailable in Battlefield Hardline.
  • The Nail Gun's projectiles are significantly affected by gravity and have a lower velocity compared to most guns in the game.
