.40 Pro

Unlocks: $7,200 (criminals) / get 1,250 kills with it and buy licence (cops)

Summary: The primary advantage of the .40 Pro over the 45T is its magazine capacity, holding five extra rounds. It shares the same rate of fire but has lower maximum and minimum damage, increased vertical recoil, slightly less aimed accuracy, and a very high spread increase per shot (SIPS). It is recommended to stick with the 45T, as its 10+1 capacity is generally sufficient.

Patched: The .40 Pro was nerfed in the Criminal Activity update on June 16, reducing its damage drop-off range from 15-30 meters to 8-25 meters and its minimum damage from 15 to 10. In the Blackout update on November 3, the minimum damage was raised to 25 and its drop-off range was restored to 15-30 meters.

Trivia: The .40 Pro is based on the Smith & Wesson M&P 40 Pro Series, featuring authentic details like a green fibre-optic front sight, a 15-round magazine, an underbarrel accessory rail, and a longer 5" barrel. The M&P range, produced since 2005, includes various pistol models. The Pro Series aims to bridge the gap between standard S&W models and their high-end Performance Center range.

Bald Eagle

Unlocks: complete 'Enforcer Assignment 2' (both factions)

• Requires Enforcer Bronze Service Star 2 (20,000 XP with class).
• Get 10 shotgun and/or battle rifle kills.
• Get 10 ammo resupplies on team-mates.
• Then complete 'Enforcer Assignment 2'.
• Requires Enforcer Bronze Service Star 7 (70,000 XP with class).
• Requires Enforcer Assignment 1.
• Get 25 shotgun and/or battle rifle kills.
• Deflect 250 pts of damage with the ballistic shield.

Summary: The Bald Eagle is the heaviest of the "heavy pistols." It uses .50 Action Express rounds and deals a maximum damage of 68, allowing for a two-hit kill out to 31 meters and a three-hit kill beyond that. In Hardcore mode, it can achieve a one-hit kill to the chest/arm out to 19 meters. This high damage is offset by a slower fire rate (about one-third slower than other pistols in its category), a seven-round magazine, slow reloads, and heavy recoil, having the highest per-shot vertical recoil of any gun in the base game, matched only by the M82 sniper rifle. The Bald Eagle comes equipped with a tactical light and compensator, and can use the Comp M4s red-dot sight, which is typically only available for primary weapons. The "VIP" in Hardline's Crosshair mode is always equipped with a golden Bald Eagle.

Trivia: The Desert Eagle, or Deagle, is a heavy pistol weighing between 3.9 and 4.5 pounds, double the weight of typical modern military sidearms. Designed by Magnum Research Inc. in cooperation with Israeli Military Industries, it entered production in 1982 and uniquely uses a rifle-style gas-operated mechanism. Originally chambered in .357 Magnum, it later became available in .44 Magnum, .41 Magnum, and .50 Action Express.
