Detailed guide for Battlefield Hardline Part 20, covering the RPK74 light machine gun and various pistols including the P226, 92FS, FN57, and more. Learn unlock requirements, stats, and tips.
This section of the guide covers two distinct weapon categories in Battlefield Hardline: the RPK74 light machine gun and various pistols available to the Operator class.
RPK74
The RPK74 is a light machine gun that was added to the game with the Betrayal DLC, though the expansion is not required to access it. It uses 5.45x39mm ammunition and has a capacity of 50+1 rounds with a fire-rate of 650 RPM and a reload time of 2.20 seconds. It unlocks for $36,000 for both factions.
Compared to the original RPK, the RPK74 features a long box magazine instead of a drum mag. It fires 50 RPM faster, has a fixed buttstock, and can be used by both factions without a license unlock. On PC, it shares the same short-range 5.45mm damage profile as the AKS74u carbine, offering up to 28 max damage on consoles. It boasts excellent accuracy, with the best stationary ADS spread in its group and very good moving and hipfire accuracy. However, it has a high SIPS (spread increase per shot), which can be mitigated by equipping a stubby foregrip. The RPK74 comes without any attachments.
Trivia: The RPK74, along with the AK74, was adopted in 1974, marking a shift to the smaller 5.45x39mm cartridge. The standard RPK74 magazine holds 45 rounds, making the 50-round magazine in Hardline non-authentic. Current models like the RPK74M feature folding stocks and side-rails for scopes, with future iterations including the RPK12.
Pistols
The Operator class utilizes semi-automatic pistols as sidearms, generally offering larger magazine capacities and faster fire rates at the cost of lower damage compared to other classes' sidearms. The pistols in the game have the following damage profiles:
| Ammunition | Max. Damage | Damage Drop-Off | Min. Damage | Weapons |
| .40 S&W | 34.0 | 15m to 30m | 25.0 | P226 |
| 9x19mm | 34.0 | 10m to 20m | 25.0 | everything else |
(Console damage stats. PC stats may differ.)
Patched: In June 2015, the minimum damage for .40 S&W sidearms (P226 and Enforcer's .40 Pro) was reduced from 15 to 10, and the damage drop-off range shortened to 8-25 meters. However, in November 2015, the minimum damage for both .40 pistols was restored to 25, and the 15-30m drop-off range was reinstated. The minimum damage for the 92FS was also increased to 25 (from 12).
92FS
The 92FS is a 9x19mm pistol with a capacity of 15+1 rounds, a fire-rate of 400 RPM, and a reload time of 1.82 seconds. It is available at the start for both factions.
In Hardline, the 92FS provides a three-hit kill out to 11 meters, unlike the four-hit kill for 9mm pistols in BF4. It has the highest horizontal recoil and slowest short reload among Operator sidearms, with average vertical recoil and magazine capacity. The 92FS comes equipped with
