SCAR-H Trivia and Variants

First up, the SCAR-H. This rifle was designed by FN Herstal for American special forces, entering service around 2009. You'll notice the SCAR-H by its distinctive wider, shorter, and straight magazine, differentiating it from the lighter SCAR-L. There are a couple of marksman variants, the PR and TPR, featuring longer barrels and more rail space, with the TPR being the specialist sniper support version. For civilian and police use, there are semi-auto models like the SCAR 16S and SCAR 17S.

HCAR Breakdown

Next, we have the HCAR, a modernized take on the M1918 Browning Automatic Rifle. It fires the .30-06 Springfield cartridge and can use either 20-round BAR mags or OOW's 30-round mags. While it has the lowest auto fire-rate in the base game at 450 RPM, it compensates with a larger 30-round magazine, low recoil, and a good damage drop-off range, giving you a solid three-hit kill out to about 46 meters. You spawn with enough ammo for three reloads, which should be fine since you'll likely be playing as the Enforcer class with an ammo bag. The HCAR was also buffed with reduced vertical ADS recoil and an extended drop-off range in patches.

SA58 OSW Details

Finally, the SA58 OSW. This is a modern version of the FN FAL, manufactured by DS Arms. It boasts a higher fire-rate at 650 RPM and a faster short reload compared to other base-game battle rifles. It also has a notably high muzzle velocity of 840 m/s. Like many battle rifles, it comes with a 20-round magazine and fairly average recoil.

• Cops: Get 1,250 kills with it and buy the license.

Important Notes:

• Both the SCAR-H and SG510 had their low muzzle velocity penalties removed in a November 2015 update.
• The HCAR and HK51 saw their vertical ADS recoil significantly reduced in an April 2016 patch to make them more competitive.
• The HCAR's drop-off range was extended by 10 meters in a November 2015 update.
• Be aware that the SCAR-H and HCAR license patches might incorrectly show the M249 LMG and M240B LMG, respectively. Some players also found the SCAR-H unlocked by default before playing.
