Complete walkthrough for Ark 2 Part 36, guiding you through the confusing pipe maze, collecting treasures, and preparing for the boss fight against Yagun and his Hippogriffs.
Walkthrough
- 1From the entrance, head east to find a small [Ruby] chest near a large industrial pipe. Enter the pipe, which can be used a few times before appearing in the east. Note an entrance blocked by a crate, which is important for hunting Grovis on the way out.
- 2Enter the blue-lit door down the stairs and continue.
- 3You will eventually be in the southwest area. A pipe running east leads to a [Flame Edge] (Lv 1/8, ATK 18/22, Fire-elemental). Avoid equipping it as many monsters are fire-type.
- 4Continue west to a blue-lit door. Take the NE path at the fork for a dead-end with a [Revival Dust] and an [Instant] sword (LV 8/12, ATK 18/23, Increase ATK on Level-Up). The Instant sword is useful but less powerful than a fully upgraded Platinum Edge.
- 5Backtrack and take the left route at the fork.
- 6You'll find another entrance and an extended pipe near an "on" switch. Flip the switch to "off" (red-colored) and enter the door you passed earlier for a fight (#3) with ten enemies. The Weak Enemy skill is effective here.
- 7The small platform to the south controls a crane that moves the extended pipe away from the opening near the previous switch.
- 8Return to the switch location and continue to the first healing spot. The switch there opens a path to chests #5-7: [Studded Leather] (LV 6/8, DEF 14/16), [Reco's Grass], and [Rage Weaken Dust]. Ignore the "A" door as it leads to the submarine dock, which is not useful now.
- 9Now, enter the southeastern area marked "the pipe maze."
- 10Pipe Maze Navigation:
- Take path A, which leads to the [FGHCDE] room.
- 11Take path C, fight battle (#4), and collect treasures #8-10: [Power Nut], a light-elemental [Ray Sword] (LV 6/8, ATK 26/30), and a [Crown Knife] (LV 4/8, ATK 6/9). Path "F" returns you to the main 6-pipe room.
- 12Take path "D" to a switch room. Flip the switch to change a movable pipe, return via path "H", and re-enter path "D". This leads to skirmish (#5). Exit south, flip the switch there (movable pipe to position #3), and use path "G" to return to the main room.
- 13Take path "E" to find the eleventh treasure, a [Rage Life Nut]. Use pipe "J" to enter another room with a switch that moves a pipe elsewhere. Pipe "B" returns you to the far entrance. If low on health, consider returning to the healing point near the submarine dock.
- 14Take path "A" again to reach a connected corridor.
- 15You will find a door leading to a heal/save room and a "Yagun Alpha Clearance" elevator. Heal and save, then descend to confront Yagun. Party members can be re-selected before the battle, but Sania is mandatory.
- 16Boss Fight: Yagun (#6)
- Stats/Weaknesses: Yagun (Lv 75, HP 376, DEF 320) is immune to most status effects, including Weak Enemy. Hippogriff (Lv 71, HP 226, DEF 92) has Wind Shield, Wind Slash.
- 17Phases: The fight begins with Yagun and Hippogriffs.
- 18Strategy: On Turn 2, after the Hippogriffs move closer, use Lv2 Weak Enemy to deal with them. Avoid grouping up as Yagun uses Confusion. With weakened minions, the fight becomes more manageable. Fight Yagun directly as he is immune to status effects.
- 19Escape Phase: After the battle, the party can be re-selected before a 20:00 timer starts. The goal is to reach the submarine dock. Save in the barracks before the timer begins.
Tips
- The Instant sword is a good early-game weapon but is outclassed by a fully upgraded Platinum Edge.
- Many monsters in the early part of this dungeon are fire-type, so avoid equipping the Flame Edge.
- The pipe maze can be confusing; follow the directions carefully.
- The crane switch controls a pipe that opens up new paths.
- Remember the Grovis hunting entrance blocked by a crate for later.
- The escape phase has a strict time limit, so plan your route to the submarine dock efficiently.
