Sophia's Spells:

  • Laser Beams (Lv54): Her only non-elemental spell until the post-game.
  • Lightning Strike (Lv60): Deals HP damage.
  • Blood Scylla (MoT1): Drains HP and MP from nearby enemies with 2-3 hits. Costs 12% MP, 40/72 HP. Takes 7.2 seconds (6.0s to cancel). Useful on enemies with low MP.
  • Southern Cross (S108): 6 hits in 5 seconds in a large area. SR only. Costs 8% MP, 30/60 HP. No Guard is recommended, but this means dropping Quick Symbol. Can be interrupted, but spell continues if not too quick. Requires Fury use -4 for triple chains.
  • Gremlins (S209): Summons 6 (Lv1), 8 (Lv4), or 10 (Lv8) critters that slowly move towards the enemy. Costs 6% MP, 30/60 HP. Takes 5.3 seconds to cancel. Cliff's Normal Attacks:

  • Fury: t1 (0.05s), t2 (0.13s) for PB.
  • MR: Fury (10), t1 (0.2s), t2 (0.23s). Fury dmg: 100%.
  • Ae: Fury (10), t1 (0.3s), t2 (1.0s).
  • LR: Fury (10), t1 (0.2s), t2 (0.85s). Knockdown.

Cliff's point blank range attack is the only normal blockable attack that cannot be skip-canceled. Regular cancels are difficult with buffering and/or impact freeze.

Cliff's Skills:

  • Sphere of Might (Lv4): 0.42x -> 0.6x, 4 hits (2). Takes 2.4s (1.1s to cancel). Doesn't hit short enemies well and sometimes knocks them down. Best skip cancel fodder for Cliff. Not great as regular cancel fodder as enemies near max Fury often block it. On manual, Charge can be used instead if on NTSC or if skip is inconsistent. Costs 6% MP, 15/35 HP.

Massive damage in a single, slow hit. Recommended for MP kills. Can cause self-ownage with damaging counter auras. Better to use fodder and keep it unblockable. Not recommended for Disc 2 as enemies can interrupt it. Alternate version does half damage but covers a medium area. Costs 8% MP, 20/47 HP.
  • Fists of Fury (Lv30): 0.21x, 20 hits. Takes 4.4s. Can be canceled before the last 2 hits for 18 hits in 3s, avoiding knockdown. Solid choice. Costs 10% MP, 20/47 HP.
  • Uppercut (Lv40): 0.63x. Juggle the enemy with varying success. Each hit costs 5/10 Fury after startup. Involves Cliff randomly using three different attacks: an uppercut punch and two different kicks. One kick can do 2 hits. Can somewhat consistently juggle large enemies. Can work on smaller enemies but FoF or AL are better. Worthless in AI control. Costs 8% MP, 15/35 HP.
  • Acrobat Locus (Lv50): 0.42x -> 0.6x (0.54x -> 0.78x), 15 hits (10). Takes 5.2s (4.0s to cancel). A nice waza. Costs 10% MP, 20/50 HP.
  • Infinity Kick (MoT5): 0.42x HP, 0.05x MP -> 0.6x HP, 0.073x MP, 11 hits. Takes 6.1s (5.8s to cancel). (Alternate: 0.54x HP, 0.065x MP -> 0.78x HP, 0.095x MP). Has a higher CP cost than Mirage's, even with the same damage. Requires using Aerial as fodder. Costs 15% MP, 30/60 HP.
