Navigate Part 46 of Star Ocean: Till the End of Time with this comprehensive guide, covering Arena battles, skill grinding, and boss strategies.
Walkthrough
- 1Arena Battles:
- Rank B is manageable if you can handle Rank A. An offensive setup is risky against Demon Beasts.
- 2Equip a Mallet/Hammer Charm to prevent stuns from critical hits, especially when fighting solo.
- 3For a challenge, attempt the Ranking Battle before post-game. Be wary of Undead Lords and Robin Winds.
- 4To reach Rank 1, defeat Dragoon Knights twice. Use Deep Freeze (Sophia, Adray, Fayt) on one Dragoon Knight while an AI fighter distracts the Crystal Dragon. Shattering a frozen Dragoon Knight has a 50% success rate.
- 5At Rank 1, you'll face Dirna & Solon. An aggressive approach is recommended. Have an AI fighter keep Dirna busy to prevent her from casting Explosion while you focus on Solon. Solon has high Agility but can be defeated with 20 ES Hybrid Explosives. Blazing Pendants help against Dirna.
- 6Give the Victory Trophy to a mage to avoid trivializing combat by freezing enemies too quickly.
- 7Insect Lords is a good battle for achieving 500 hits.
- 8Battle Skill Grinding:
- Grinding battle skill levels can be done now, though it's not strictly necessary until later post-game.
- 9Create two Earth-elemental weapons (or three for three fighters) for use on Bestials in the Aquatic Garden.
- 10Use Malodorous Potions or Super Potions to petrify one Bestial, allowing for skip-cancels without interruption.
- 11Recommended setups for manually controlled characters (equip Ring of Animosity and Faerie Ring):
- Nel: SR F Kyoumensatsu (skip), SR C Kagebarai
- 12Mirage: SR F Infinity Kick (skip), SR C Sphere of Might
- 13Fayt: SR F Air Raid, SR C Air Raid
- 14Albel: SR F Goumashou (skip), SR C Kikoushou
- 15Roger: SR F Whirling Heat, SR C Raging Helmet (skip)
- 16Peppita: SR F Kaboom, SR C Kaboom (skip)
- 17Maria: SR F Gravity Bullet (skip), SR C Scatter Beam
- 18Peppita (alternate): SR F FaerieFr (skip), SR C Kaboom (skip)
- 19AI fighters should battle non-petrified Bestials to avoid being interrupted. Manage AI Fury by switching to a non-elemental weapon if necessary.
- 20Skip-cancels can achieve Lv10 in 90 minutes; Lv8 is considered sufficient if not aiming for max level.
- 21Boosting in NTSC versions is slower; fighting enemies that interrupt easily (Robo Gunners, Toadspawn) can speed it up.
- 22Final Dungeon Preparation:
- Stock up on supplies before heading to the final dungeon.

Boss: Chimera
- 200 000 HP, 28 000 MP, 1200 ATP
- 17 000 xp, 5000 Fol
- FWIE: R R, AAA: Nrm
- Strategy: Use No Guard and Paralysis immunity to make this fight manageable.
Tips
- You cannot use No Guard with BoF -> Air Raid, but it is not an issue.
- Triple Kick and Air Raid are effective against Dragon Zombies; ES Hybrid Bombs/Explosives are an alternative. Save before using them to recover them upon death.
- Critical hits can stun; equip a Mallet/Hammer Charm to prevent this. Enemy critical hits have a subtle sound effect.
- Deep Freeze is the ideal freezing method; Ice Needles are ineffective. Bitter Potions can be used but may run out.
- Once Solon is defeated, victory is practically secured. Blazing Pendants help against Dirna.
- Consider the AI's Fury when they are fighting a petrified Bestial.
- Boosting is slower in NTSC versions.
- Accessory from Arena Ranking Battle (not essential).
