Your guide to Pyrite Town in Pokémon XD: Gale of Darkness! Learn about the Poke Mart, trainers, and key story events to progress.
Hey there! So, you've made it to Pyrite Town. It's a bit of a rough-and-tumble place, but don't let that stop you. You'll find a few trainers hanging around, and if you're looking to stock up or heal, the Poke Mart is your go-to spot. Just remember, you can also heal for free at the Colosseum if you want to save some cash.
While you're here, you'll see some drama unfold with a police officer and a couple of punks named Trudly and Folly. This is a good time to challenge some of the trainers in town or head over to the Pyrite Colosseum if you're up for a fight. Check out the Colosseums section for more on that.
If you need to grab some items, the Pyrite Hotel isn't a bad shout. For $100, you can heal up your Pokémon and snag some goodies like 3 Great Balls, a Focus Band, and a Paralyze Heal. Not a bad deal!
After you're done exploring the town's immediate surroundings, you'll want to head into the OBNS Building. Make your way to the second floor to catch a news show. After that, find Secc in his office on the same floor. He's got some important info about Cipher's desert lab and will tell you to take the Data Rom to Nett.
Keep an eye out for a lost girl named Kandee. Reuniting her with her mom on the third floor will score you a Soothe Bell, which is super handy for raising Pokémon happiness.
Nett is waiting for you on the top floor. Detro is guarding his door, but he'll eventually let you pass. Give Nett the Data Rom; he'll need some time to figure out what's on it. Afterward, Bitt will suggest you check out the Rock Poke Spot, one of the three discovered by Duking, to find some wild Pokémon.
As you leave the OBNS Building, listen in on Trudly and Folly. You'll learn that Folly planted a transmitter on their boss, which will help you track him later using a Radar.
Don't forget to grab some Battle CDs! You can find CD 40 in the Researcher's house and CD 22 in Duking's house. Later, after the Snag Machine is stolen, you can snag CDs 38, 36, 24, and 21 from various floors of the ONBS building.
