Explore Route 9 and Konikoni City in pokemon sun moon. Find wild Pokemon, battle trainers, and discover shops selling TMs for 10,000 Poke Dollars.

From the entrance to Diglett’s Tunnel, head south-west past the police station. An officer, Haruki, will battle you. His Growlithe is Level 24 and Fire-type. It has Intimidate, which lowers your Attack stat by one stage, so use special moves if possible. Water, Rock, or Ground Pokemon are recommended to counter it.

Past the officer is a crossroads. Continue south-west to reach the ocean’s edge. You can battle Fisherman Mike, who has a Level 23 Chinchou (Water/Electric). Grass Pokemon are safest, but be wary of Chinchou’s Electric moves if you are using Dartrix.

To the fisherman's east is a Net Ball. To the far west, hidden among the rock, is an X Accuracy.

Head back up the slope and continue north-west through the big gates to reach Konikoni City.

Konikoni City

Konikoni City is an oriental-themed town with many shops and stalls.

Shops and Services:

  • Incense Shop: Sells items like Pure Incense, which deters wild Pokemon if held by your lead Pokemon.
  • Massage Shop: Run by a Dancer, offers a free daily massage to boost your lead Pokemon's friendship.
  • Technical Machine (TM) Shop: Sells TMs for 10,000 Poke Dollars each.
  • Veteran: Located above the TM shop, checks your Pokemon's friendship level.
  • Restaurant: Run by Mallow’s family. Meals cost 1,040 Poke Dollars and reward you with 2 Heart Scales.
  • Olivia's Store:
    • Olivia's Probopass will give you a letter about your grand trial at the Ruins of Life and a free Max Potion.
    • The lady at the front counter sells common evolution stones.
    • The woman by the side sells one of two Pokemon Fossils for 7,000 Poke Dollars (type depends on Sun or Moon version). These can be revived on Route 8.
  • Upstairs in Olivia's Store: Find a Zygarde Core (3), which teaches Dragon Dance to Zygarde.
  • East Side Shops: Barber’s, Apparel Shop, Hiker selling herb items.
  • Pokemon Centre: Located at the end of the east side.
    • Inside, a Preschooler wants to trade her Poliwhirl for your Zubat.
    • An Aether Foundation Employee by the Poke Mart seeks a Passimian or Oranguru from Lush Jungle.

Lighthouse Point:

Head north-west from the Pokemon Centre towards Lana’s house, then north-east past the oriental-style gate to Lighthouse Point.

Chat with the lady near the Pikachus to receive Pikanium Z. If your Pikachu (not Pichu or Raichu) holds this and uses Volt Tackle, it triggers a unique Z-Move. The lady can teach Volt Tackle to your Pikachu if it doesn't know it.

Behind the benches on the right, you can find an Eviolite.

Wild Pokemon Encounters on Route 9 (Fishing):
