Outer Cape

Navigate the Outer Cape in Pokémon Sun and Moon with our walkthrough. Find trainers, items like Antidote and Twisted Spoon, and a Zygarde Cell.

The Outer Cape is a small area located just outside of Malie City. Follow the main road north. Before the road bends, a Pokémon trainer will challenge you to a battle on the right. Alternatively, you can sneak through the tall grass behind them.

Trainer Battle: Janitor Melvin

• Trubbish (Level 26)
• Trubbish (Level 27)

These Poison-type Pokémon are weak to Ground and Psychic attacks. After the battle, continue north. In the far north-west corner, you'll find an Antidote on the ground near the tall grass.

Head east towards the south side of the Recycling Plant. An event will trigger, leading to another Pokémon battle.

Trainer Battle: Janitor Shawn

• Muk (Alolan) (Level 27) - Poison/Dark

This Alolan Muk is weak to Ground-type moves. Steel-types are also a good choice as they resist Poison and Dark. Try to defeat it quickly before it uses Minimize to increase its evasion.

Next, you'll face Ace Trainer Chase.

Trainer Battle: Ace Trainer Chase

• Grimer (Alolan) (Level 29) - Poison/Dark

This is the unevolved form of Muk. If you defeated Janitor Shawn's Muk, this Grimer should be manageable despite its higher level. After the battle, Chase will reward you with a Twisted Spoon, an item that boosts the power of Psychic-type moves.

Continue east along the south side of the Recycling Plant. If it is daytime, look below the yellow parked car to find a Zygarde Cell (36). Speak to the man in the red shirt nearby to learn about battle styles. You will automatically learn the "Elegant" style. Other styles like "Left-handed", "Girlish", and "Reverent" can be unlocked by defeating Captains after Grand Trials.

Head north-east towards a person staring at the ocean. Chatting with them will grant you a Friend Ball. Afterwards, go west behind the car park to find an X Speed.

Return to the car park and head south towards the row of tall grass east of Janitor Melvin, near the entrance. Navigate through the grass to a small clearing where you'll find a Nugget.

To proceed, return south to the main part of Malie City. Follow the main road south towards the south-west corner of town. At the pedestrian crossings, head south-west to reach Route 10.
