Alright, so there’s this old guy on Route 221, the same route where Pal Park is located. He lives in a house right by the water. It’s a bit of a maze to get there, so popping some Repels beforehand is a good shout. Pro-tip: If you’ve already set up Pal Park, you can just Fly there, which is way faster than Surfing!

This guy is kind of like a lottery, but instead of numbers, it’s all about Pokémon levels. The level he’s looking for is fixed and won’t change even if you save and reload. Most of the time, you’ll find the levels are in the 30s, but don’t be surprised if you see them jump into the 50s, 60s, or even 70s sometimes. Basically, there are 100 possible levels, so you’ve got a 1 in 100 shot at hitting the specific one he wants.

Once you’ve got a Pokémon with the exact level he’s asking for, put it at the very front of your party. He’ll then give you an item based on how many times you’ve visited him before.

Here’s the breakdown:

• First visit: Black Belt
• Second visit: Expert Belt
• Third visit: Focus Sash

After you’ve gotten the Focus Sash, he’ll loop back around and start offering the Black Belt again for subsequent visits.
