Learn how to obtain all six unique Trainer Cards in Pokémon Platinum: Red, Blue, Bronze, Silver, Gold, and Black. Includes requirements for each card.
Trainer Cards are a small addition to Pokémon Platinum, serving as a trainer's ID and a side quest. There are 6 different trainer cards, each with a unique color, offering bragging rights but no special in-game benefits.
The Trainer Card system works on a Star System, where each accomplishment grants a Star. The order in which you achieve these feats determines the card you receive.
| Card Color | Requirements |
|---|---|
| Red | Starting card |
| Blue | Defeat the Elite Four |
| Bronze | Win a contest on its Master Rank |
| Silver | Play the capture the flag game at least 50 times in the Underground |
| Gold | Catch 482 Pokémon in your Pokédex (excluding unobtainable Pokémon like Mew and Deoxys) |
| Black | Achieve 100 consecutive wins at the Battle Tower |
Note: Ho-Oh and Lugia do not count towards the Pokédex total for the Gold card, even though they can be obtained through other games.
